With four-digit power under the hood and an exhaust note that can send Demons hightailing it back to the underworld, Hennessey Performance’s Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is about as dramatic as they come. Now, this outrageous performance machine heads to the Pennzoil Proving Grounds for validation testing in the following one-minute, 51-second video.
This particular Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro rocks a convertible body style, with silver paint complemented by black racing stripes that run down the flanks. No doubt about it, this thing sounds mean, blasting down the straights with a loud supercharger whine up front, and a rumbling V8 soundtrack from the rear.
As a reminder, Hennessey’s Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro produces 1,000 horsepower and 883 pound-feet of torque thanks to its upgraded 6.2L V8 LT4 engine. To make all that go, the Texas-based tuner tosses the factory blower in favor of a new 2.9L unit, while also adding ported cylinder heads, an upgraded valvetrain, a new billet throttle body, a high-flow intake, a new exhaust, and several other bits and pieces.
All told, the Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro will rocket down the road with a 0-to-60 mph sprint clocked at 2.1 seconds. The quarter mile is done in 9.57 seconds at 147 mph, while top speed is pegged at 217 mph.
Impressive specs, that’s for sure, but seeing all that goodness in action is where it’s at. As such, this latest video from Hennessey Performance provides ample footage of the high-strung ZL1 as it goes wide-open throttle all over the Pennzoil Proving Grounds, tearing up the pavement with it’s prodigious V8 power.
If you’re a fan of Hennessey’s Demon-killer, or you just like fast cars that sound awesome, then this video is definitely worth a watch.
