Chevy Offers Racing Style With 2020 Corvette C8.R Car Cover

Race fans looking to protect their 2020 Corvette from the elements can do so in style with this Corvette C8.R car cover.

The car cover includes a fully rendered image of the race-spec mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette, making it look like it just got back from testing at the local circuit. There is yellow coloring for the body panels, which is offset by black for the wheels, headlamps, and windows. There’s also a number of red accents, including red for the sideview mirrors and the number plates. Other sponsor “stickers” are found sprinkled around the body.

Chevy says that this 2020 Corvette C8.R car cover was designed specifically for indoor use in order to protect against “dust and debris.” The construction includes a layer of “micro-porous film,” while “an inner cotton layer” provides “breathable protection.”

Cleaning the 2020 Corvette C8.R car cover is easy. Chevy recommends using a vacuum or damp cloth to ensure debris, dust, and dirt are removed prior to using a cleaning product that is specifically formulated for the car cover material. Chevy also recommends pretesting the product to determine if it will change the color or texture of the material. Installation is also easy, and the car cover comes with instructions that guide owners through the process. It’s recommended to start with the sideview mirrors first, then the front and rear bumpers last.

The 2020 Corvette C8.R car cover is priced at $1,195, and includes a storage bag for the cover when it is not in use.

As a reminder, the 2020 Corvette C8.R is the race-spec version of the latest Bow Tie brand sports car. Unveiled in October of 2019, the C8.R was designed to participate in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as well as select FIA WEC events. The latest race-ready Corvette follows on the heels of the front-engine C7.R, which was also rendered as an indoor car cover for the previous-generation Corvette.

  1. One has to wonder whether Chevrolet engineers sabotaged the design of their C8 Corvette from the very beginning by designing the car so that it was virtually impossible for aftermarket tuners to slap on a supercharger to get monster horsepower; it appears now that the only way to get any type of boost is to increase the engine displacement or add nitrous injection.
