  1. Great way to start! I predict they kill this in 3 years and say the luxury sedan market is shrinking so we’re exiting, leaving all the BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Genesis luxury sedans, and the Hyundai/Kia Sedans, and the Toyota, Nissan, Mazda sedans…who did I leave out?

GM continues to field products that are not competitive and thus they find no takers…. I’m not even going to say its a shame, its incompetence:

    1. I agree !
I would be in line for a 3.0TT, however there are none at the dealers, but again one more time !

      Not with this interior !

Put the Escalade ( Escala) interior in this CT5 with a 3.0TT or 2.7 T, Im in TODAY !

      Never with a 2.0T,
Never with a Bottom of the barrel Chevy interior, plastic fantastic !

No matter what-make it the best you can…
and, GM can. Spend money to make money.

Sell or SALE? Stop “just being ok”. it’s going to send them down the toilet….again

      Not a Royal flush, mind U 🙃

  2. I as at my local Chevrolet/Cadillac agency a few days ago to get some parts for a friend. There was a Cadillac in the showroom; I think it was a CT5. Fairly big. Anyway, the paint quality on that thing was just plain sad. plenty of orange peel, not a lot of shine to it, and it just looked “off”.

I am not judging this based on how a luxury car should look. I base it on how ANY car should look when it is fresh from the factory. It was just sad.

    1. I think the CT6 with a 3.0TT is very competitive in this class. The interirior might not be for everyone, but i think it has plenty of soft touch surfaces. If you add the platinum package to the premium luxury trim you get all sorts of plush upgrades. it also brings the price up 10k. Plastic is a very durable material that can hold up to wear and tear, thus using it in spots makes sense to me. Car and Driver gave it lack luster reviews, but they were driving the 2.0t, which really has no business being in this car. If I magically had 50k to drop on a car tomorrow it would definitely be a Cadillac and it would be the Preium Luxury RWD with no packages because its cheaper than the V-series. Howeve,r I’d opt for the CT4 with the 2.7t over the CT5 because I like smaller cars and dislike v6’s. And it’d be in wave metallic, that blue looks so sick!

      1. That wasn’t really a reply to the bad paint job comment, I just wanted to fantasize about Caddy’s for a minute.

            1. Black. As notoriously bad as Chrysler paint is, my Pacifica (also black, but metallic) put it to shame, and that is not saying a whole heck of a lot.

              1. Black is super unforgiving. I was gonna guess silver or grey, which I feel get orange peel effect a lot. My wife’s Cx-3 is black (also has quite a bit of flake) and it shows all her ring scratches by the handles and where she’s missed with the gas pump. Black looks amazing all cleaned up, but is definitely the easiest to look terrible too, Imo. I wonder if black without heavy flake is even harder to hind imperfections. You don’t see a lot of cars without flake or pearl nowadays.

                1. Mine looks good enough that, with some mild pinstriping and some other little touches, I am entering it in a little charity car show in Lincoln Nebraska on Saturday the 27th.

(If any of you are in the area, it will be a nice show. Sams Club parking lot in Lincoln. Look for the black Pacifica with striping and the factory “S” blackout trim. It will be parked by or near a really nice custom-paint Charger. Look for 6-1 270 with a big, Viking-esque beard. Introduce yourself! Yes, this is a GM forum, but the show will be a good one, and plenty of GM iron will be there.)

          2. You had no idea what model you were looking at but knew the paint had orange peel. Sure you weren’t looking at a Silverado 2500?

And you wonder why you get down votes?

  3. Cadillac’s CT5 must be selling well or the discount would be closer to $3,500-4,000.

  4. They’ve got to move these things. The strike and then the Covid shut down really screwed them as the strike delayed the start of production and then covid shut down happened only about a month after production started. There really aren’t many of these that even made it to dealers. Gotta incentiveize somehow, beautiful car.

  6. I heard the 2020MY is done at lansing, and 2021 is starting soon. Is there any truth to that?

    1. Don’t think so…I have a CT5 on order since February and it doesn’t even have a build date scheduled yet. Unless they’re bumping me up to a 2021 😉

    2. Not true. 2021 start up is not until Sep 28th. That’s delayed from Sept 7th pre covid. I have 2020 build date of 7/6. We’ll see if that goes off as planned.
