C8 Corvette Sounds Extra Mean Thanks To Kooks Headers: Video

More and more aftermarket parts for the C8 Corvette have recently begun to hit the shelves, but the amount of available modifications for the vehicle is still fairly light. That said, those C8 Corvette owners who want to make the car’s 6.2L LT2 V8 engine sound meaner are in luck, as there are already a handful of aftermarket exhaust options available for the vehicle.

Kooks Headers recently released its new 1-7/8″ stainless steel Super Street Series headers for the C8 Corvette. To promote the new product drop, they sent a set of the headers over to YouTube’s Emilia Hartford, who recently took delivery of an Arctic White example of Chevy’s latest iteration of the iconic Corvette.

Hartford says she was already pleased the stock exhaust note of the C8 Corvette, but was eager to see how the upgraded Kooks headers would sound when installed on the car. Obviously, the engine note will trade some refinement for aggression with aftermarket performance headers, but for those who like their car to be loud above all else, there’s really no better option than a pair of stainless steel long tubes like these.

Hartford also received a pair of Ultra Green high flow catalytic converters from Kooks for this exhaust upgrade. The high flow cats improve exhaust gas flow and also contribute to the more aggressive exhaust sound. Like the headers, they bolt right on to the C8 Corvette and are made of high-grade stainless steel.

Find out how to properly install a set of headers like these into a C8 Corvette and hear them in action in the video embedded just below. For those wondering, the retail price on these headers is $1,495, while the high flow cats cost $1,614.
