An Exclusive Sneak Peak At 2021 Cadillac Escalade Interior Color Options

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade represents a complete overhaul of the model, representing the first model year of the all-new, fifth-generation of the full-size SUV. The vehicle has been redesigned from bow to stern with a completely new exterior, a new interior, and new underpinnings heavily influenced by the Cadillac Escala concept vehicle.

  1. Put the seat controls on the doors like Lincoln, don’t be so damn cheap GM.

    1. eh, I find door controls unintuitive and unattractive. It’s not like you have to adjust your seat every time you drive, why should I have to look at the controls every time I drive?

      1. Because it looks beautiful and more expensive if u make the with good design and materials. At the end of the day its more comfortable. Take a look at the MB S-class door panels…
But not like in the CT6. Ct6 seat controls is a shame.

        1. I find it more annoying.

Every single vehicle I drive has em on the seat. then I get in a family members Benz where I reach down and realize they are on the door. Seems kinda stupid to me.

  2. That Whisper Beige with Gideon Accents interior colour is beyond gorgeous, makes it look like a yacht.

    1. Except the carpets should be chocolate. that light color will get dirty fast….

      1. Meh, people who spend this kind of money on a vehicle tend to just pay a detailer to clean it for them, they won’t care.

  3. The devil is in the details and General Motors CEO Mary Barra has been unwilling to demand the execution towards fine details which can transform the 2021 Cadillac Escalade to being something special and competitive with the world’s best; but when you share the same basic blueprints of something that cost over 30-percent less then you can’t sometimes make the moves necessary to elevate the Escalade to being special.

    1. Have you seen what the new Escalade looks like? It makes the old one look like an absolute dinosaur. I understand that’s it popular to crap on Mary Barra, but I’ll reiterate, she saved the company. Remember what GM vehicles looked like inside and out before she came in? Plastic Chinese food container garbage.

      1. It looks pretty much the same on the exterior. I just traded in my 18 Escalade. I expected better for the new generation.

      2. It looks good inside, but small details are not quite there yet. Small buttons around the shifter, window buttons on the door still look cheap.
Omegatalon and Shockandawe both said the right things, but gma society gave them so many dislikes that now I think that u guys deserve bad products.

Also they showed Escalade a couple months ago, but the Color Options we only see now from bad renderings. GM always shows a car and gives minimum information about it.
Germans always give all the information when their cars debut. Many quality photos/videos, options etc.
GM still does not get it…
        Sorry for my english.

      3. How did “she” save the company? She was handed a company with a clean balance sheet and they’ve lost market share, reduced market segments and withdrawn from all but 3 global markets? Every launch has been underwhelming, Cadillac is in even worse shape than 5 years ago. We see El Miraj, Ciel, Escala and others but get the XT4 with lights that “resemble” them. “Jet black” crappy plastic still rules the day. These interiors are better but where’s a Navy Blue interior, or Chocolate brown? They take the black interior, change a few screw in panels and THAT is supposed to be an upgraded interior? The Vette is the absolute only exception, and I’m amazed it actually made it to production. Pretty sure the taxpayers saved the company but the culture of GM remains the same. When I met MB she said she wanted to change the culture, she’s failed there as well….

  4. Gideon? What is Gideon – the wood? Everything else looks monochromatic. Gorgeous, though.

  5. Vinyl seats on the base model? Are those on the current generation, too?

Looks like you have to get a Platinum or pay extra on PL/S to avoid a mostly black dash. I can’t believe black interiors are so trendy. I don’t need a portable oven.

    1. I think current gen only comes with real leather…though I must say leatherette has come a long way and its nearly indistinguishable for a non enthusiast, And YES on the black interiors, I did it once, I’ll never do it again, I’d cook even in the early spring!

  6. Still no bespoke option like every competitor in it’s class.

    Reply
    1. Other than some offering any paint choice (for a price), I can’t think of any competitor in this range that offers bespoke customization from the factory. It’s just not feasible at this price and volume point…even on a normal high end car like a Rolls or a Ferrari, a bespoke interior will easily add another $100k….plus the cost of a couple trips to check in on the bespoke guy’s progress.

  7. Sooooooooooo no Carbon Fiber option, just wood?

    Reply
  8. There are nine options but of those nine, seven are still Jet Black either it totality or in conjunction with something else. Why? Because it’s cheaper to do? I suspect that’s the reason. What Lincoln does with the Black Label editions is something Cadillac should emulate. They have some beautiful interiors and, let’s face it, the new Escalade is still just a rebadged and tweaked Tahoe. They really need an interior with unique materials and colors to set it apart. More black Cadillac interiors doesn’t really set the Escalade apart. All the nine options should be more unique like the Whisper Beige/Gideon choice.

    1. Not sure if it’s really cheaper material cost but I would guess a lot of it comes down to making your dealer stock easier to move. For example, Lincoln has that blue interior which I love but my wife absolutely hates it. If we were buying one and the only one with the options we wanted on the lot was with the blue interior, 0% chance she would sign off on that. Dealer has to hang on to that one til they find a very specific person that wants it. If the colors are more neutral, makes it a lot easier to sell without having a huge inventory on the lot with different option combinations (or asking people to wait for a custom order). Not saying it’s good or bad, but that’s my best guess as to reasoning.

  9. Darn! I so badly wanted the Jet Black wood, with the whisper beige seats.
I also wanted the Sport Platinum.
Too bad it’s not available! That sucks!! LOVE those seats; LOVE the woodgrain (similar to my current Escalade).
    That’s a shame!
