After its world debut earlier this year followed by the reveal of its interior design in April, the all-new Baojun E300 EV has just been officially launched in China. As previously announced by General Motors’ Chinese brand, the all-electric minicar is now on sale in two versions called the E300 and E300 Plus – both of which have notable differences in size, interior configuration, and driving range.
As such, the new Baojun E300’s body measures 103.3 inches in length, 64.8 inches in width and 62.5 inches in height, mounted on a short wheelbase of 68.9 inches. This model comes standard with a two-seat configuration or an optional new three-seat version, and includes a battery system with a maximum range of 260 kilometers (162 miles).
Meanwhile, the Baojun E300 Plus uses an extended body at 114 inches long, 65.2 inches wide and 62.8 inches high, riding on a 79.5-inch wheelbase. Its larger dimensions allow it to incorporate four seats and more cargo volume with the rear seatbacks folded down. In addition, its larger battery provides a driving range increased to 305 kilometers (190 miles).
The two models in the E300 EV family are the brand’s first electric vehicles to adopt the “Interstellar Geometry” design language and the new Baojun logo, with an avant-garde split body style and a two-tone exterior that enhances its uniqueness. The exterior differences between the E300 and E300 Plus start the bottom door design, including different trim as well as model-specific rear fenders, wheels and rear windows.
Mechanically, the two versions of the Baojun E300 are equipped with a rear-axle-mounted electric motor producing 54 horsepower (40 kW) and 111 pound-feet (150 Nm) of torque, which is coupled to a synchronous fixed-ratio gearbox. The vehicle has a top speed of 62 miles per hour and its battery pack supports DC fast charging, allowing it to fully charge in one hour.
The all-new Baojun E300 EV is now available in the Chinese market, with a total of six trims and five body colors: Starry White, Starry Sky Powder, Starship Gray, Interstellar Blue and Star Flame Red. The vehicle includes a high level of features, including the latest Baojun intelligent connectivity system and multiple safety driving aids. The starting prices are as follows:
- E300 base: 64,800 CNY (about $9,155 USD at the current exchange rate)
- E300 Interstellar: 72,800 CNY ($10,285 USD)
- E300 Future Edition: 79,800 CNY ($11,275 USD)
- E300 Plus Base: 69,800 CNY ($9,860 USD)
- E300 Plus Interstellar: 77,800 CNY ($11,000 USD)
- E300 Plus Future Edition: 84,800 CNY ($11,980 USD)

That’s not new, that is a discontinued French car. I saw it a few times on Top Gear, but I’m sure it was a diesel
i love it. i wish they gave it a try in america. different than anything for sale . maybe a little more power. quirky can sell.
Why won’t GM bring the E300Plus to the USA for $11,900 as a purpose built City/urban vehicle. It could be a revolutionary new approach to basic transportation. The dealerships would be different from a normal GM dealership. They could be many in number, small in size, very sparton showrooms, simple price, small service bay area, small number of employees, small overhead, small payroll. The dealership would reflect the entire concept of frugal living, economical costs for basic transportation and a desire to make a dent in global warming. Perhaps GM could help out with costs for several charging stations at each dealership?
Question: How is the Kandi model K23 and K27 being launched in Dallas Texas on August 18th. It is made in China. I thought our President said foreign car companies would need to build the cars in plants in the USA before they could be sold in the United States????????????????????
Wonderful! But in the USA YOU CAN’T HAVE IT!!!

Could a representative from General Motors please tell us why the E300PLUS will not be available in the United States as an affordable, purpose built, entry level, all electric vehicle?? With the 190 mile range this vehicle could fulfill the needs of many Americans, especially those with modest income. It would provide a doorway for many to try the electric car experience backed up by General Motors, a major car manufacturer!
What people do not consider is this type of vehicle has many more benefits than a motorcycle, yet safer and more practical means of transportation. It’s all about marketing.
