The all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban debuted side by side back in December, dropping in with all-new underpinnings, styling, and a raft of fresh tech features. One of the many highlights for both models is available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, and now, we’re covering the availability of the 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban air suspension right here.
Both models offer Adaptive Air Ride Suspension (RPO code F47) exclusively on Z71 and High Country trim levels. The feature is not available on any of the other four trim levels (LS, LT, RST, or Premier).
The 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban air suspension feature differs in terms of required equipment between the Z71 and High Country. For Z71 models, Adaptive Air Ride Suspension requires the Off-Road Capability Package (Z6E), which includes the following content:
- Magnetic Ride Control (Z95)
- Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (F47)
- Eight-inch diagonal multi-color Driver Information Center (UHS)
Meanwhile, High Country models require the Max Trailering Package (NHT), with Adaptive Air Ride Suspension included with the High Country Deluxe package (PDM). The content of these packages is listed below:
Max Trailering Package (NHT)
- Advanced Trailering package (ZL6)
- Extra capacity cooling system (V03)
High Country Deluxe (PDM)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
- Panoramic power sunroof (C3U)
- Max Trailering Package (NHT)
- Power-retractable assist steps with perimeter lighting (B3L)
- Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (F47)
Note that opting for the 2021 Tahoe or 2021 Suburban air suspension option automatically adds Magnetic Ride Control for both Z71 and High Country trim levels. Models without Adaptive Air Ride Suspension or Magnetic Ride Control are equipped with Premium Smooth Ride Suspension as standard. The exception to this is the Premier trim level, which comes with Magnetic Ride Control, but is not offered with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.
The benefits of opting into the 2021 Tahoe and 2021 Suburban air suspension are many, the biggest of which is greater body control. Additionally, the technology provides ride height adjustments that can lower or raise both full-size SUVs by as much as four inches, providing greater ground clearance over rough terrain, or a sleeker profile while cruising, thus enhancing fuel returns. The lowered body stance also eases passenger ingress and egress, not to mention cargo loading and unloading. What’s more, the system will automatically load-level at all four corners.
The first deliveries for both full-size SUVs begin this month, however, Adaptive Air Ride Suspension will see late availability, opening up towards the end of the year.

Having air ride in addition to magnetic ride is a good idea. Why is a hole in the roof (power sunroof) necessary?
Still an 8″ screen…effin GM
FYI Screen is 10.2
Thank you, I stand corrected. It’s the driver information center that will be eight inches.
The air suspension is the only way to go!! But I can’t find a Z71 Tahoe at any dealer with it!
