2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Power Sliding Center Console Featured In New Ad: Video

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe doesn’t fall short when it comes to storage and convenience. One of the highlight features offered by this next-gen full-size SUV is the new power-sliding center console, which is featured in this new Chevrolet advertisement.

The video opens with an exterior shot of the new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, which is presented in a natural, outdoorsy setting next to a lake. The SUV is equipped in the range-topping High Country trim level, which offers the Power Sliding Center Console as part of the Deluxe package. The latter also includes a power panoramic sunroof, power-retractable assist steps, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, the Max Trailering Package, and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.

After the characters in the new Chevrolet advertisement climb onboard the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, one of the front-seated passengers touches an overhead button, which slides the center console towards the passengers sitting in the second row.

As the video explains, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe’s Power Sliding Center Console can move up to 10 inches, thus servicing a variety of different purposes. Positioned all the way back, the center console provides rear-seated passengers with a pair of cupholders, as demonstrated in the video. What’s more, the console also provides several different storage solutions, holding four gallons of milk in one configuration, as well as providing hidden compartments for storing valuables and other items best kept out of sight. There’s also a flat area to place a purse or small backpack, if desired.

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe will offer the new Power Sliding Center Console later this year. Additionally, several of GM’s other next-generation full-size SUVs will also offer the feature, including the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, 2021 GMC Yukon and 2021 Yukon XL. It’s understood that the feature will not be offered on the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, which features a different console.

  1. Does sliding it back take away the arm rest for the front seats?

    1. It sure did in that video.

    2. you can slide the armrest forward for the driver and front passenger when the console is in the rear position, but the armrest doesn’t stay in place; it slides back in forth. Calling about this. It doesn’t seem right.

  6. I took my new 2021 Tahoe High Country to the dealer and they agreed, the driver and front passenger armrest doesn’t click into place when the power sliding center console is in the rearward position. You can push the armrest forward with your palm as instructed in the owners manual, but it doesn’t stay in place while driving, it slides back and forth. I believe this is a design flaw and needs to be addressed. Calling the 800#.

  7. The armrest doesn’t stay in place, it slides back and forth, which is a comfort issue for sure, potentially a safety issue for the driver of the new 2021 Chevy Tahoe High Country.

    1. 1. It is not a safety issue. Armrests are not required in a vehicle, and if they are present they are not considered structural. There is nothing in the FMVSS stating that armrests cannot move. If you are stating that it moving is causing issues with your steering, they’ll gladly point out that if you go by the letter of the law you are supposed to have both hands on the wheel while driving.

      2. Given that it is not a safety issue, GM may take your calls into consideration, but even if they did make a change it will require that it be sent through design/engineering/be cleared for production/specification change sent to suppliers… etc. At that point you’re looking at a 2023 model year change at the least.

      3. If all of the above were to happen, you’d have to order and pay for the install of the console and lid, presuming that it even worked with your existing interior. You’re not magically going to get the upgraded lid because you complained because this is not a warranty or safety issue.

      1. Thank you for responding. I did find this feature documented in the online manual last week and it said the armrest is supposed to “click into place when you slide it all the way forward”. The online manual link is broken today so I can’t pull it up. Maybe the online manual is being updated.

  8. One thing I would like to say is always that before obtaining more laptop memory, look into the machine within which it is installed. In case the machine is definitely running Windows XP, for instance, a memory threshold is 3.25GB. The installation of over this would merely constitute a waste. Make sure that one’s mother board can handle the upgrade quantity, as well. Interesting blog post.

  9. Can this console be added to a 2021 rst Tahoe that came with a regular console?
