2021 Buick Envision Interior Revealed In Brand New Photos

When General Motors announced the all-new 2021 Buick Envision for the United States and for China, it only shared images of the exterior of the overhauled crossover, leaving the appearance of the cabin a mystery, until now. Brand new photos officially shared by GM in China reveal the 2021 Buick Envision interior, including that of the range-topping Avenir trim level as well as less models. Both will be sold as the Buick Envision in the North American market, while getting the Envision S moniker in China.
The images show what we previewed in spy shots last year: the second-generation Envision will have a state-of-the-art cabin that’s full of luxury and technology.
Aesthetically, the 2021 Buick Envision interior features the latest interpretation of the brand’s interior design language, characterized by an asymmetric and unique layout.
Particularly noteworthy is the large multimedia screen embedded in an original configuration with an 18-degree inline towards the driver in order to facilitate readability and usability.
The dash is divided into two primary sections, with the display, instrument panel, and outboard air vents being part of the top section, while climate and vehicle controls are part of the lower section on the center stack, flowing into the console. A set of air vents within the center stack divides these two sections.
Meanwhile, the dash distinctly separates the driver and front passenger sections. There’s also a single armrest that’s divided into two sections, along with a gear selection mechanism that uses triggers/buttons identical to that found in the the Chinese-market Enclave.
In addition, the 2021 Buick Envision interior offers ample space with a capacity for five passengers and more than 20 storage spaces. The feeling of spaciousness is enhanced by the largest panoramic sunroof in its segment, providing an open and comfortable viewing experience for occupants. The Avenir range-topper has an interior finished in Ivory White and Jazz Black, with high-quality materials and finishes.
The all-new 2021 Buick Envision will go on sale in late 2020 in China and in early 2021 in North America. All the details related to equipment and features will be revealed closer to launch in both markets.
GM Authority has confirmed with Buick officials that this all-new Envision will be produced at the SAIC-GM Jinqiao South plant to supply both the Chinese domestic market as well as the United States, Canada and Mexico. The vehicle rides on the GM E2 platform shared most directly with the first-generation Cadillac XT4.

This is beautiful, wow! If this is any indication of Buick’s future interior design language, I see a very successful future for the brand…
Very nice!
Finally GM interiors may be seriously moving away from that same too-small screen and button pod underneath it from every GM interior the past decade! This looks similar to the newer VW interiors with the big integrated screen. Very nice.
Finally…some damn balls. Great style and creativity. This is what Cadillac minus the Escalade needs in terms of interior design.
You are kidding right? It seems like a two-generation old Kia Sedona minivan interior!
You must be viewing the wrong picture. It’s the one with the very attractive, airy interior.
Great looking interior. Now if upcoming Chevrolet Interiors start utilizing better materials maybe GM finally gets it
I really like the very light colored interior. I really hope all GM vehicles will get that option soon. So much better than the boring black.
With the light interior you can find things so much easier during day and night.
I understand the black interior in work trucks but not all trucks are used in that environment.
If I didn’t have to look at a charcoal interior again I would never miss it!
Is this really a General Motors interior? I am So impressed. I’m sure women were involved in the very clean and functional layout. I’m torn with the fact that it is manufactured in China. That kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know, it’s still a GM product. I guess time will tell if it’s a success. 👍👎👍?
Everything is great except the push button transmission switches. Epic fail for what is one of the best looking GM interiors I have ever seen.
@Tom: Why? What’s wrong with the push button trans shifter?
My only complaint is if you are going push button why waste valuable center console space for it. Put it on the dash just right of the steering wheel. I don’t get using just as much space as a traditional shifter.
I have the 2019 envision. I love everything about it.
Looking forward to testing out the 2021 version.
Buick I wish it was made in the U.S. That is the only thing that may keep me from buying one…Miss Minnesota
Uh, you do know the 2019 envision you have now was made in China, right? Why would this one being produced in China be any different?
I’m not bashing you Diane Nelson, but this is exactly what many of us have been saying on here for so long. People will complain or say they won’t buy (XYZ) if built someplace outside the USA. Yet, the majority of people buying vehicles are not like us on here. They just don’t know where a car is produced, and what’s more I don’t really think most people care. Your comment and then Ian’s pointing out the fact that your current Envision is built in China proves this point well. This is why, although I prefer something built in the USA by an American brand, I don’t see a big issue with a really nice Buick that is built in China. My current Encore is built in South Korea, and it’s a super high quality car and it’s a Buick!
Beautiful! I think it will get some knocks from the review community with the driver centric angle to controls and screens. Similar to the C8, significantly scaled down, t makes a lot more sense in the sports car than a CUV IMHO. That said I personally like it and it’s continued progress for GM.
liked it until you said “made in china”
Why can’t this be produced in the USA 🇺🇸
Bob, you and I both know there is absolutely no reason why this can’t be built in the U.S. . G.M. Is trying to break the back of the UAW and the will of Americans. Third world labor and a non existent E.P.A. is the perfect recipe for Mary Smith. Truly disgusting!
And what would be so bad with the UAW being broken? Nothing but greedy crooks, who will inevitably drive costs up so far that GM can no longer make money while building cars here in the USA. Look at what happened in Australia, the workers there drove costs so high, it was not feasible to build there anymore
Ian, I agree. The UAW hasn’t been what it’s supposed to really do other than force all manufacturers elsewhere.
Why cannot this be produced in the USA 🇺🇸
Would be Interested in buy one if it was made in the USA.
it’s Made in China. As far as i’m concerned, it can Stay in China!
What is GM trying to do to the American people who’ve supported them for so many years and actually bailed them out? Instead of closing American plants it’s time to shut down China and move this car back home where it belongs. A second thought, just rename it Corona and see how many sell. I will never buy another GM product.
The Corona was a Toyota sedan and was built in Japan.
This is the era of global automotive architecture in a global economy. I see no issues with spreading the wealth. Parts for cars come from all over the world, not just from China. My 2017 Buick Cascada was engineered in Germany by Opel, rebadged as a Buick, and assembled in Poland. It is a solid car and drives like more expensive German makes. I wish all my previous Buicks and Pontiacs drove like this rebadged Opel! My 2019 Buick LaCrosse Avenir was designed and engineered in China by Chinese and Americans but was built in Michigan by union labor!
Richard,
I think Buick’s home is China now, unfortunately. They can’t bring the Envision back “home” as you suggest because their home is no longer here.
I read an article in the NYT that made the case that GM closed their Buick City plant in Flint in 2010 and that effectively ended Buick’s 115 year run as a US producer. Since then their operations have, for the most part, moved to China.
To keep the brand operating and the sales network functional in the American market, GM began rebadging and importing Opel-designed vehicles built around the globe in places like South Korea, Germany, Poland, Canada, and China, but not in Buick City. Unlike the US carmaker Americans once knew, the name merely represents a branding operation now. Buick’s hometown production operations in Flint are part of history now.
The article cites GM’s sale of Opel as problematic for the brand’s US future as it took away the product portfolio that was being used from which to derive a lineup of “Buicks” that could be marketed to Americans. We are already seeing that happen. Soon, only three Buicks will be sold here and only one of three is built here; the rebodied Chevrolet Traverse marketed as the “Buick Enclave”.
It would seem that for those of us that are fans of GM and Buick, we either accept and buy Chinese Buicks or GM will withdraw it entirely here. That may be the way it plays out. They likely aren’t ever going to reopen Buick City or shift the focus back to Flint and bring it “home”.
It is sad that at the same time they are making this there are trade secrets being given away. I guess, but not sure if that is what they call forced technology transfer. I have to assume that the other company is also making a buck off the production of the cars being sent to the US.
When is the buick envision 2021 coming to the US? What month?
You would have to check the Chinese calendar. Probably the month of the rat.
Fantastic.
Very nice, I like the dash not too crazy about the pattern on the seats though, not the type of pattern I would have chose. I’m sure it’s expensive.
I love the light interior colors and wish the dash was brown instead of flat black. I think black looks soooo cheap. Is this the Avenir model?
Wonder if I could buy this interior without the sun roof. We do NOT like sun roofs, but I don’t think you can get this specific light colored interior below the Avenir. Darn!!!
SWEET. . . . .
