The off-roader segment is as popular as ever these days, with vehicles of all shapes and sizes getting the rough-and-ready dirt-conqueror treatment. Now, we have something a little unexpected – a lifted off-roader 1983 GMC Vandura.
Recently posted to Instagram by user @yasiddesign, this mean-looking GMC Vandura gets a slew of upgrades and changes, blessing it with a go-anywhere kind of attitude. Up front, we see a flat-black grille and LED lighting, as well as a tough lower bumper fitted with red recovery hooks and a winch. Further LED lighting is up top with eight additional auxiliary lights, while the body panels are done in a dark teal color.
Naturally, this off-roader GMC Vandura gets a substantial body lift, with the elevated stance now hovering over a set of meaty off-road tires and red five-spoke wheels. The interior gets further red coloring, as well as a red roll cage, which ties in nicely with the wheels, tow hooks, and GMC badging on the front fascia.
“As much [as I] love ridiculously slammed and wide bodied cars / super / hyper cars, I always had a thing for lifted off-road trucks and vans. Especially vans, for some reason,” writes @yasiddesign. “I’d pick a lifted GMC like this one over A LOT of cars.”
Funny enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a lifted GMC van rendering. In fact, back in October of 2019, we rendered up our own GMC Savana AT4 in response to GMC’s claim that it would offer an AT4 variant across the entirety of its lineup. Unfortunately, GMC says it has no plans to produce an AT4’d GMC Savana, but hey, with yet another off-roader GMC van rendering popping up on the Internet, it seems as though the interest is there at least.

It’s cool. I like it. But not so different from mods I’ve seen to GM factory 4WD vans over the years. I’ve kinda wanted one of those since high school, but they don’t fit my lifestyle. But it’d be cool to own one!
Looks exactly like the van on Ozzie Osborne’s latest music video of hellraiser
