Whipple Offers Huge Supercharger For 2019-2020 Silverado, Sierra

When it comes to superchargers, V8s, and horsepower, bigger is most definitely better. With that in mind, Whipple Superchargers is offering up a massive new blower for 2019 through 2020 Silverado and Sierra pickup trucks.

The new unit is offered as the most-powerful intercooled twin-screw supercharger available for the 2019 through 2020 Silverado and Sierra. No surprise then that this thing is positively massive, rated at a 3.0L capacity.

“With all the latest technology, the all-new Whipple system makes more power than any other positive displacement supercharger system on the market,” Whipple boasts. The company states that the blower is primarily for stock engines, but can also work with heavily modified engines.

The fifth-generation supercharger incorporates a twin-screw design and oversized water-to-air intercooler system, and also comes with a bypass system with less than a single horsepower of consumption during cruising, keeping fuel economy in check when staying off the loud pedal. Unsurprisingly, though, this supercharger is not emissions legal.

Further highlights include a large dual-pass heat exchanger, aluminum high-flow intake manifold, high-flow water system, billet idler plate, and adjustable idler system. HP Tuners was tapped for the PCM calibration, which is sold separately.

The blower is finished in black as standard, but is offered in a number of custom finishes, including polished metal, red, and white. Whipple also says the supercharger can be specified in “nearly any custom color option” for those building a 2019 through 2020 Silverado or Sierra show truck.

The new Whipple supercharger will fit 2019 through 2020 Silverado and Sierra pickups equipped with the 5.3L V8 L82 and L84, as well as the 6.2L V8 L87. No power or torque gains have been reported as of yet.

Order books open up on Monday, with shipping five to six weeks out. Pricing starts at $6,750.

  1. It would be more interesting if Whipple actually installed their new supercharger to a 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silerado or GMC Sierra to demonstrate how their supercharger increases engine performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency or whether their new supercharger can be used in a 2019-2020 Chevrolet Suburban with the same engine.

  6. Nothing is different from their previous ones as the engines in the “all new truck” are same. They also forgot to mention how many people melted their pistons with this super charger as the hard part isn’t ramming air into the cyclnder it’s keeping everything at normal operating temp while you do it.

  7. We have installed the new gen 5 3.0 whips on our 2019 gmc. Noticed a big difference from stock. The only issue that we have had is that we have blown out the rear main seal twice now. Please if any one has any info please let me know what you have come up with.
