New C8 Corvette Exhaust Offered By Fabspeed: Video

Anyone looking to add a little extra flavor to their new C8 Corvette will surely look into equipping a new aftermarket exhaust system. Now, Fabspeed is offering exactly that with its new cat-back Valvetronic Maxflo System.

Fabspeed says its new C8 Corvette exhaust system was designed to offer both loud, aggressive noise levels when digging into the throttle, and a more restrained, civilized noise level when cruising. The exhaust is said to combine both the thunderous tone of a U.S.-bred V8 with the mid-engined tone of an exotic.

Fabspeed says that the optional factory C8 Corvette exhaust system (equipped with the Z51 Performance Package) can disrupt gas flow when the valves are shut. As such, the company’s new pipes improve on the original design and make more power, with claimed peaked gains of 11 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque with the valves closed. With the valves open, the new exhaust saw peak gains of four horsepower and six pound-feet of torque when compared to the optional factory system. Additionally, the new Fabspeed system cuts weight by 20 pounds compared to the optional factory system.

The new Fabspeed C8 Corvette exhaust is made from three-inch T304L/321 stainless steel tubing with CNC mandrel bends and handmade TIG welds. Installation is easy, with a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory system. The cat-back system is also emissions legal.

Just like the factory system, the new Fabspeed exhaust comes with four exhaust tips, two on each side of the C8 Corvette rear fascia. Buyers can specify theirs with a Polished Stainless Steel finish, Carbon Fiber finish, or Satin Black finish.

Pricing starts at $3,895.95, per Fabspeed’s website. Check out the new exhaust in action in the video below.

  1. Both LTH and Fab Speed pipes look and sound amazing. I’ve had experience with Fab Speed on my 2012 Porsche for years and can attest to the Fab Speed pipes having held up like new for the past 7 years on my Porsche Carrera. Another penalty for living in California is the every other year mandated smog test, which has never found any of my vehicles to pollute, but keeps costing me money year in and out for my four cars. Too much government. AF (Dems want more government interference than is tolerable all with added taxes. It’s just not practical and over burdens the tax payer

  2. While I like the sound of a powerful engine, I also sometimes want my vehicle to be “quite as a Buick”. I have a C8 on order but have only seen one on the road and that didn’t help me decide to change anything. However, I would pay extra for more on the top side and still get Buick on the bottom. I won’t change anything until the after the break-in period and won’t change anything that affects the warranty. I will look later at custom exhaust for possible changes.
