Back in April, the organizers of Holley LS Fest West announced they had moved the event from early May to mid-June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers expressed confidence the annual celebration of the General Motors Small Block V8 would go on under the newly revised schedule, but with COVID-19 lockdown measures still active in Nevada, they have been forced to cancel the event.
“Unfortunately, Holley’s LS Fest West event most recently scheduled for June 12-14th, 2020 in Las Vegas has been canceled,” Holley LS Fest West organizers said in a statement. “The state of Nevada is taking a phased approach to reopening, and at this time, there is still no indication as to when large crowds will be permitted to gather. Pre-registered participants and spectators that pre-purchased tickets will be fully refunded as soon as possible.”
“We’re grateful for our loyal Holley LS Fest fans that didn’t give up on the event,” the statement also said. “We know they were really looking forward to the event and so were we. We pour our heart into this event and love seeing everyone enjoy it as much as we do. Rest assured, we will be back in 2021 delivering more fun than ever!”
LS Fest West is an annual meet for 1997 or later LS or LT V8 powered vehicles, though it’s open to all vehicles with LS swaps, including imports, street rods, trucks, muscle cars and more. The event includes drag racing and autocross competitions, off-roading challenges, a show n’ shine car show and product vendors. This year’s edition of the event was set to be held under the stadium lights in the infield at Las Vegas Motors Speedway.
Those who registered for LS Fest West will still receive a care package courtesy of Holley, which will include an event T-shirt, event poster, and a collectible pin. Holley says it will also randomly select ten lucky LS Fest West pre-registrants to receive a free entry into LS Fest East later this year and travel money to get there. LS Fest East will be held at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky on September 11th-13th.
