Earlier today, we covered the news that car rental agency Hertz was offloading several Hertz Hendrick Camaro SS and Camaro ZL1 models in a bid to avoid bankruptcy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it looks like Hertz is also offloading several of its Chevrolet Corvette Z06 rentals.
As spotted by Jalopnik, Hertz currently has several 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 coupes listed for sale. Looking over the company’s car sales website, we see at least 22 examples up for grabs, each of which is covered in Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat paint and sports black racing stripes running down the center. Each also has black wheels and a black leather interior, and each is equipped with an automatic transmission.
As we covered in the Hertz Hendrick Camaro post earlier today, the Hertz car rental agency reversed all of its new car orders earlier this month following a dramatic drop in business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s offloading some of its pricier rental models onto the used car market.
For any buyer looking to pick up a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 coupe in yellow with an automatic transmission, these rides could prove to be a decent deal. Mileage falls between 12,000 and 35,000 miles, with pricing firmly in the $60,000 range. Granted, the condition of these sports cars is uncertain – they are, after all, rentals. That said, they could still prove to be decent buys when examined on a car-by-car basis.
As a reminder, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is equipped with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, which produces 650 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 650 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm. The ‘eight connects to the M5U eight-speed automatic, as is the case here, or alternatively, the MEK seven-speed manual.
If the price was right, would you consider buying a used Hertz Chevrolet Corvette Z06, or would you avoid buying a rental outright? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevrolet Corvette news, Chevrolet news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

How, in the name of all that is holy, are they going to convince sane people to buy a used rental C7 for 60 grand when they can have a brand new C8 for 70?
Yeah that price is too steep for a rental car that is also that ugly. Just checked, local dealer has two 2017 Z06, one with under 5k miles for just over $60. These should be priced to sell in the 50k range. If they actually want to sell any before they go bankrupt
you’re absolutely right ed
Let me think:
Corvette? Sure, I want one.
ZO6? Maybe. Actually, I never got to utilize more than half the potential of my measly 460 HP C7. Probably not even that much.
Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat? Not my favorite. Could I learn to like it? Sure. After all, it’s still a Corvette.
$60,000? To me, that’s a lot of money. Sixty … thousand … dollars. Last time I looked, Kerbeck and MacMulkin each had brand new C7 coupes for less than that. Not ZO6s, but I don’t need a ZO6. I buy cars to please me, not to one up my buddies.
A ZO6 rental? Why would anybody rent a ZO6? To flog it! To beat the living daylights out of it! To see what it can do! And then give it back to Hertz.
Uh, I think I’ll pass.
All yellow, all automatics and being that they were rental cars…ALL BEATEN TO A PULP.
Pass!
How do you beat a 650 hp car that was Designed to be tracked ?
Also non-perforated seats, means 1LT trim. The lowest.
All loaded 3lz cars were well over 100k
A Corvette is kind of a dream car. At least it is to me. My dream car will never be yellow with black stripes. I don’t have to go any further than that.
I bought a secondhand car from a dealer and only found out later that it was a rental. As a coincidence Hertz. The oil was never changed, but after I did that, the car was perfect!!!! Had it for over 11 years.
It’s an automatic, so no clutch issue and most people would not know how to drive it anyway. If it wasn’t in an accident and interior is good. Sounds like an awesome deal for someone shopping for that kind of a car
Spotted the Hertz employee 👆 sent here to drop subtle hints. lol jk jk
No, I have nothing to do with any of this. Just my opinion. That’s all
