We’ve covered a number of Hall Racing’s various competition vehicles in the past, including the team’s recent Chevrolet Silverado off-road racer, as well as its successful Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 off-road racer. Now, we’re taking a look at another Hall Racing Colorado with the team’s white-and-black chase truck.
For those that may not know, a chase truck is designed to support a desert racing vehicle by carrying the race team’s equipment, personnel, and supplies, following the racer to the event with everything needed to compete. Indeed, race trucks are absolutely critical to success at an event, and must have all the right stuff to tackle the same challenging terrain as the racing machine, while also carrying tons of gear.
This particular Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 looks to do exactly that, and comes loaded with upgrades to get the job done.
One of the first things we notice are the tall 35-inch BFGoodrich tires, which sit with knobby purpose under massively flared AEV HighMark Fender Flares. The tires are wrapped around factory wheels with spacers.
As a reminder, AEV stands for American Expedition Vehicles, which is the same company that collaborated with Chevrolet to build the hugely capable Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison.
As for this particular Chevrolet Colorado, practicality matched with capability are the name of the game. The bed is filled with necessities like spare wheels and extra gear, while a winch is up front. There’s also a huge array of external lighting ringing the front and sides of the vehicle.
Finally, the whole thing is draped in an eye-catching white-and-black color scheme, with stars across the hood and front fender, and a checkered flag pattern across the rear fenders.

Nice package. Questions regarding the 35″ tires. First, suspension looks suspect. With the wheel spacers alone will not handle enough clearance, so a lift is in order? Also, gearing to handle the extreme additional weight and height.
What suspension kit was used, and how much fender was cut.
