The GM Authority Take

GM Mexico sales decreased dramatically in April, representing the second consecutive month of declines following a 10 percent drop in March. The negative performance was predictable, as it was the first full month of stay-at-home orders meant to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

The small Chevrolet Beat was GM Mexico’s best-selling model in April

In April, all four GM brands recorded large drops in sales volumes, but the automaker’s two premium brands were affected the most. Cadillac lost almost 80 percent of its sales volume, while Buick recorded an 83 percent drop. All models posted significant declines except the Chevrolet Onix, which was recently introduced in the country.
