General Motors of Mexico has just launched ‘Chevrolet Live,’ a completely new virtual showroom in which Mexican customers will be able to see first-hand the latest launches of the brand in the country. With this new initiative, the company offers a complete and personalized service to potential buyers in their own home, facing the serious commercial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Initially, the Chevrolet Live service will be used exclusively to promote the all-new Chevrolet Onix, the brand’s most recently launched model in the Latin country and the newest vehicle that GM manufactures in Mexico – specifically at the San Luis Potosí plant. The company’s marketing efforts planned for the subcompact sedan were affected by the unforeseen health crisis, so it had to reinvent itself with this new tool.
“With ‘Chevrolet Live’ we are breaking the physical barriers that separate us today,” said Advertising and Promotion Director of GM Mexico, Adrián Enciso, in an official press release. “Technology is part of our lives and we not only incorporate it into our vehicles, but we are finding new ways to exceed the expectations of our customers,” he added.
Chevrolet Live works similarly to the Cadillac Live service, initially launched in Canada and a few months later in the United States, albeit with a more modest execution. On the Chevrolet Onix Mexico’s official website, customers can access a pre-recorded tour of the vehicle or request a live appointment with an online consultant, with whom they can ask questions and receive personalized attention. The live appointments are available Monday through Saturday between 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 pm.
In addition, the virtual showroom allows shoppers to request test drives at home, access detailed information about OnStar’s exclusive services as well as use online tools to complete the purchase of an Onix. Other models are expected to be added to the platform later, such as the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban recently announced for Mexico.
Available exclusively in the Mexican market for now, Chevrolet Live is based on a new business model that allows virtual interaction between customers and the brand. GM states that the platform operates under the same quality and customer service standards with which Chevrolet’s network of authorized dealers in Mexico operates, who are responsible for completing the sales operations initiated with the new tool.
