The 2021 GMC Canyon was revealed in the new AT4 off-roader spec way back in January, showing off a few nips and tucks to the exterior styling. Now, we’re digging into the truck’s interior with a fresh batch of official photos from GMC.
The photos provide our first look at the cabin space for the 2021 GMC Canyon, which appears to be identical to the 2020 model year in terms of design and layout. However, the 2021 model year does add two new interior color combos. Although the 2021 model year is not considered a full refresh for the nameplate, it’s about as close as we’ll get to one for the current generation.
Both the rough-and-ready 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 trim level and the 2021 GMC Canyon Denali trim level are up for inspection in the new photos. Let’s start with the AT4, which is available with either cloth or leather upholstery for the front seats. This particular model pictured above appears to be covered in leather. Interior color options are limited to the new Jet Black / Kalahari combo.
Meanwhile, the 2021 GMC Canyon Denali is available exclusively with perforated leather-appointed seating, with either a Jet Black, or the new Cocoa / Dark Atmosphere color combo.
Further changes and updates expected for the 2021 GMC Canyon include a reconfiguration for the trim level cadence, with the new AT4 model offered as a replacement for the outgoing All Terrain trim. The exterior color options list has also been altered, as has the list of wheel and exterior accessories options.
The new 2021 GMC Canyon also gets a new fascia design, including a new grille for the high-end Denali, as we were first to report a few days ago. Availability for the 2.5L I-4 LCV gas engine has been tweaked as well.
We’ll have more info on the mildly refreshed 2021 GMC Canyon coming down the pipe, so stay tuned. In the meantime, subscribe to GM Authority for more GMC Canyon news, GMC news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

$75,000.00 for the Denali trim level in a midsize pick up, and it still has the cheap, uncomfortable seats from a $20,000.00 Buick Encore.
I don’t think this truck will be in my future General Motors.
Danali canyon is not 75k. Dumbest post I have seen here in years.
Paid $39,000 for mine Tim. You can’t fool us with your lies.
I can’t see paying $39K for any truck I couldn’t make a living with. $39K is about $14K over priced for a mid sized truck. GM has about $17K in it.
Nobody is paying sticker price for a truck these days.
Sorry it’s not 1990 anymore.
$17k gets you a Spark today.
Haven’t these photos been up on GMC’s website for months now…?
Indeed they have. And most of them were in the press release back from January 13th:

I don’t think this truck will be in my future General Motors. You keep ignoring the seats.
$75k for a midsize Canyon? How much is toilet paper where you live?
Tim is more full of it than he could afford to wipe.
I’m sorry, this comment may get a lot of folks fired up, but bottom line, although I’m fully aware there have been some minor upgrades here and there, all we really have is a 2021 nose bolted onto a 2015 truck.
And this isn’t easy for me to say, since for a long time I really wanted a Canyon…
That is what it is. I don’t think anyone was really expecting more with a new truck about a year and a half out.
Still a good truck and if you want a V6 buy now if you want a Turbo 4 buy later.
I love my Canyon and I am in no hurry to upgrade yet.
Thar’s typical everywhere in the industry. A 2006 Tacoma is practically the same as a 2020, aside from changes in body styling, powertrain changes, and supposed frame changes. The Tundra hasn’t changed much since 2007. The Ram 1500 DS truck came out in 2009 and is still sold today as the 1500 Classic. The F-150 goes an average of 6 model years between model years.
What garbage, the stereo is still stuck in an era we no longer want. Dodge, Tesla, etc are going to bigger screens. I was hoping the screen size would improve in 2021 but no luck. So I’ll take my preapproved loan elsewhere.
I just wish interiors came in different color options other than black. To me they all look the same. I’m not saying going crazy with all one color like red, blue, green, ect. I know the big color options are usually a red stitching but paying that much for vehicles nowadays there should be more options
all trucks are way too expensive, but yes agreed canyon has most uncomfortable seats on the planet
@Paul Hoster: I have to laugh and gave you a thumbs up on your comment. I too feel the trucks (all of them) are way too expensive! But the reason I laugh is because nobody can make any comments on here about just how stupid expensive trucks are without getting thumbs down. Don’t really care, but also can’t understand it either. Why do people on here seem so defensive about that?
Example of just how stupid expensive they are: Although not a huge Ford person, I saw a new Ranger on the street last week that looked so nice and (IMO) much better than the GM twins. So for fun I went and “priced” one out online. Let’s just say for the most basic 2WD and 4 door Ranger with a 4 cyl and no extra features from the standard truck, the price was at $30,000! Yes, incentives will bring the prices down on these things, but it’s a darn truck.
I saw one at the auto show at $38k and did not even have power seats.
The reality is nothing is cheap.
Even used trucks are not cheap so at least they hold their value unlike a car.
The says of the base trucks at $9,999 are long over.
$25k gets you little these days truck car otherwise.
Compared to the seats in the Tacoma, they’re far from bad.
@Werner: Toyota’s. What people drive who really don’t know better and have no real idea about what else is out there.
The seats are stiff new but break in. Mine were a pain at first but now are just fine.
Seats designed to be soft and plush when new are the ones that wear out the fastest. My SIL just bought a brand new Ford Explorer last winter and the seats are already starting to look like they have 200k miles on them. The leather is loose because of the foam breaking down. A 120 lb woman shouldn’t be wearing out seats so rapidly.
Paid $43,000 for a RAM 1500 limited with air suspension. I traded my 2017 Colorado for it. Make the switch like I did GM is junk from there interiors to there crappy 8-speed transmission.
I’ve got a 2019 Denali…he’s right. Worst seats EVER. Love the truck but would never buy another if they don’t change the seats…their buyer demographic is a 5ft 135 on girl o swear. Upgrade the dam seats GM!
Did someone slip those seats in after you bought the truck?
Sounds like you really did not do your homework or you are just trolling.
I am 196 pounds 6 ft and they fit fine. Could use a little more bolster on the sides.
But then you would complain about the wear from dragging your butt over the bolster.
All Denali trucks should get the a bespoke interior similar to the Yukon. I also hope these trucks get a 3.0.
No 3.0. The blessing of an in line six is how smooth they are but the curse it they fit so few vehicles. The I6 will not fit and not be used.
The Yukon interior may just be what the full size trucks get. I
Umm these photos have been out for weeks? This website is failing
Once again a mediocre at best interior that resembles recycled bits from its big brother. Even the wheel controls are from the 2017-2018 halftons? These don’t represent “luxury” trim levels to me! While i’m not a fan of the mega tesla screens GM needs to look at its competition as this isn’t going to inspire anyone to upgrade or switch over to GM.
Why did they go to the black interior and eliminate the more popular camel dune????? That’s what’s preventing trading up from my 2018 Sierra.
