Chevrolet Traverse Discount Drops Price By $6,000 In May 2020

During the month of May 2020, Chevrolet Traverse discount offers apply to both 2019 and 2020 models, though the largest featured incentives are for 2019 models, which are more than double that of the 2020 models.

Specifically, the Bow Tie brand is offering a $6,000 cashback rebate on most 2019 models, and a $2,500 discount on most 2020 models. The automaker is also continuing to offer interest-free financing with no money down as a means to assist buyers who may be struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, the offers are nearly identical to last month’s offers.

Incentives

Nationwide Chevrolet Traverse discount offers for the full-size crossover during the month of May 2020 are as follows:

  • Featured 2020 Traverse Purchase Offer: $2,500 cash allowance
    • Excludes Traverse L trim level
  • Featured 2019 Traverse Purchase Offer: $6,000 cash allowance
    • Excludes Traverse L trim level
  • Featured 2019 Traverse Finance Offer: 0 percent APR for 84 months for qualified buyers who borrow from GM Financial
  • Featured 2020 Traverse Lease Offer: $329 a month for 36 months for current eligible lessees
    • Applies to Traverse FWD LT model
    • Ultra-low mileage lease with 10,000 miles per year
    • $2,489 due at signing (after all offers)
    • $0 security deposit

Shoppers should note that all of the above Chevrolet Traverse discount offers will run through June 1st, 2020. Furthermore, until June 30th, 2020, General Motors is offering special vehicle discounts for first responders and healthcare workers on the frontlines of the battle against the COVID-19 coronavirus.

For reference, here are the 2019 and 2020 Traverse trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, $1,195 destination freight charge included:

2019:

  • L – $31,125 (not applicable to the aforementioned incentives)
  • LS – $34,095
  • LT – $36,595
  • RS – $44,295
  • Premier – $46,695
  • High Country – $52,095

2020:

  • L – $30,995 (not applicable to the aforementioned incentives)
  • LS – $34,095
  • LT – $36,595
  • RS – $44,795
  • Premier – $46,995
  • High Country – $52,095

Prospective buyers should note that the headlining offer is nearly identical to last month’s offer as well as March’s rebate, and is slightly less generous than February’s featured discount. Additionally, May’s featured discount is more worthwhile than January’s $3,500 discount as well as some of the deals offered last year, including the Chevrolet Traverse $5,000 discount offered in August, and the $4,000 discount offered in October.

Interested parties should note that offers in 2020 have been relatively modest so far, especially when compared to the nearly $10,000 discount in December or November’s 20 percent discount.

  1. General Motors and other car companies need to realize that this year might be one to forget because of COVID-19 especially as some local governments still have lockdown rules in place meaning it’s illegal to leave the house to do anything except go for grocery; thus, dropping the price or offering as many as 7 years of interest free payments will not get a customer into the showroom when you’ve got Governors like Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer that threatens to throw people in jail for exercising their Constitutional rights.

    1. For those who are in a good financial situation now is a great time to buy. I’m already working with my preferred dealer to get the vehicle I want.
