Prospective buyers and interested fans will be delighted to hear that the 2021 Tahoe configurator and 2021 Suburban configurator are now live and online, providing a chance to spec theirs to taste while combing through the options and pricing details.
Starting prices for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe are set at $55,095 (with destination) for the base-model LT with 2WD, ranging as high as $73,895 (with destination) for the range-topping High Country with 4WD. Meanwhile, the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban starts at $57,795 (with destination) for the base-model LT with 2WD, and $75,300 (with destination) for High Country models with 4WD.
For now, both full-size Chevy SUVs are on track for the Start of Regular Production (SORP) in June. Both models will be produced at GM’s production facility in Arlington, Texas.
Notably, both the 2021 Tahoe configurator and 2021 Suburban configurator do not list the optional turbodiesel 3.0L I6 LM2 Duramax with the available engine options. As we covered previously, the new diesel engine option will see late availability for both models, with diesel-equipped Tahoe and Suburban’s rolling off the line approximately three months after SORP.
For now, the 2021 Tahoe configurator and 2021 Suburban configurator include the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87, which is standard on High Country models, and the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84, which is standard across the rest of the trim level lineup. Both engines, as well as the late-available LM2 diesel, mate to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
As GM Authority was first to report, and confirmed by the the 2021 Tahoe configurator and 2021 Suburban configurator, both models offer illuminated Black bowtie emblems. Both models also offer illuminated Chevrolet mirror emblem lighting.

Why GM doesn’t want a black out SUV with all technology and equipment. Only high country can get all options. They should offer option black edition or RST and Z71 with options.
Agree! I was disappointed to see that I couldn’t build a Z71 with the adaptive cruise control! But then again, I have to spend nearly $14K more to get it in a High Country?
Just picked up my 2021 Z71 Suburban. Absolutely beautiful vehicle and great ride! I guess I didn’t read the fine print but was very surprised when I found out Adaptive Cruise Control wasn’t included and I couldn’t get it even if I wanted it. Seems like this could be a software update to enable the functionality.
Totally Agee. Nuts it can’t be added
The GMC site for Yukon is also available, however neither site allows selection of the Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD. Note – this is not the same as the sunroof/retractable step Premium package. This is the package that includes the ability to raise and lower the suspension.
Whaterver happened to the six announced interiort trim options? Only two oprions offeted so far.
When are the other ones becoming avialable, especially the Jet black/red one?
I like to order…new Tahoe and Suburban and Escalade, ESv,and Corvette, hardtop and softop. Loaded leather with Black Black paint and
They mention LS in the various things like trailer packages, but you can’t actually CONFIGURE an LS. That’s all I want because I want the console delete.
The online configurators rarely launch with all the options available.
OK, how and where can one then access a complete online configurator?
So right now I have to pay $60,000 plus for a truck that vaguely resembles a 24 year old Expedition and still only offers black as an interior choice.
Damn good job Mary! What the f*$k would we do without your leadership!
Does anyone find it odd that the Heads Up Display (with inclinometer) is unavailable on the Z71 but its available on the GMC AT4?
What is the difference in the two 4wd systems offered – Active Response 4wd vs the standard 4wd??
Active Response:
Air Ride Adaptive suspension (F47)
Electronic limited-slip differential (G96)
Adaptive cruise control is optional on a freaking High Country that starts at 74K!!!! And then you have to pay either 3355 or 4605 to get it. And they wonder why they are losing market share!
I’m not seeing the RST option. Is it held up until later? If so when will it be available? Not seeing 6.2 as an option—-only available in High County. Is it not an option in any other trim level? I thought it might be an option with the RST.
When will they be for sale on lots?
Is there any updated info for when they will be on lots for sale?
Looks like SORP was pushed back to later this month. I’d expect units to show up on dealer lots around the forth of July.
will the 6.2 v8 be available as an option on the z71?
