2021 Camaro Just Gained Red And Black Exterior Accent Packages: Exclusive

Last week, GM Authority reported that the 2021 Camaro is getting two new Wild Cherry design packages. During that post, we promised more on the 2021 model in the days ahead, so today we’re back to tell you about two other, new-for-2021 appearance packages for Chevrolet’s muscle car.

One is called Black Accent Appearance Package, and the other is Red Accent Exterior Appearance Package, and both appear to bring to life a Camaro concept car shown last year. Let’s dig right in.

The Black Accent Exterior package for the 2021 Camaro includes the following features:

  • Satin Black Front Splitter and Side Rockers Package (PCY), which consists of:

  • 20-inch 5-split spoke Satin Black wheels (5JX/57S)

This package is assigned RPO Code PCK and is an LPO-level item, meaning it’s an official Chevrolet accessory that can be ordered in conjunction with the car, but is shipped to the dealer separately from the vehicle, to be installed by the dealer. Pricing info is currently unavailable.

The Black Accent Exterior Package is not available on the LS Coupe or on ZL1 models. It is, however, available on all other 2021 Camaro trim levels.

  • 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1: requires RS Package. Not available with:
    • Wheel locks (SFE)
    • Ground effects package (5VM)
    • Carbon Flash Metallic front splitter (RMH)
    • Front splitter (RZ3)
    • Carbon Flash Metallic second-generation ground effects (VTD)
  • 1SS, 2SS: not available with:

Red Accent Exterior Package

The Red Accent Exterior package for the 2021 Camaro includes the following features:

  • Black lower grille with Red Hot inserts (RZB)

Like the Black Accent Package, the Red Accent Package is an LPO-level item, meaning that it’s ordered in conjunction with the car, but is shipped to and installed by the dealer. It’s assigned RPO Code PCY. Pricing info is currently unavailable.

The Red Accent Exterior Package is available only on LS Coupe, as well as on 1LT, 2LT and 3LT models.

Package not available with the following items:

  • Black lower grille with Silver-painted inserts (RO1)
  • Black lower grille with Gloss Black inserts (RO2)

Camaro LT1 Concept Brought To Life?

Interestingly, the Red and Black Exterior Accent Packages are not mutually exclusive, meaning that they can be ordered together. As such, it would appear that ordering both of these packages on the 2021 Camaro would produce a vehicle that is very similar to the Chevrolet Camaro LT1 Convertible Concept that we covered extensively at the 2019 SEMA show.

That concept wears the same wheels, lower front fascia with red inserts, plus the second-gen front fascia extension and rocker panels in Satin Black. However, the show car also has a few other elements that are not part of these packages, though that can be ordered individually.

With that said, it’s also worth noting that one could configure a car like this using official GM/Chevrolet parts and options prior to the introduction of these packages. However, these new bundles make it easier to do so.

Satin Black Front Splitter & Side Rockers Package

Since we mentioned it above, we might as well spotlight it here: the new Satin Black Front Splitter and Side Rockers Package, also new for the 2021 Camaro. This package includes:

  • Second-generation Satin Black front fascia extension (SL2)
  • Satin Black rocker moldings (STI)

Assigned RPO Code PCY, the package is included in the Black Accent Exterior Package, but it’s also available as a standalone option. Like the other two, it is an LPO-level item that’s ordered and installed by the dealer. The package is available on all 2021 Camaro models except for the ZL1.

  • LS (Coupe), 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1
    • Package requires one of the following:
      • Body-color high-wing spoiler (5V5)
      • Body-color blade spoiler (5ZU)
      • Satin Black blade spoiler (5ZV)
      • Satin Black wing spoiler (5ZW)
      • Carbon Flash Metallic blade spoiler (5ZZ)
      • Carbon Flash Metallic wing spoiler (SB2)
      • Decklid-mounted lip spoiler (D80)
    • The package is not available with:
      • Ground Effects Package (5VM)
      • Front splitter, Carbon Flash Metallic (RMH)
      • Front splitter (RZ3)
      • Second-generation Carbon Flash Metallic Ground Effects (VTD)
  • SS:
    • Package not available with:
      • Ground Effects Package (5VM)
      • Front splitter, Carbon Flash Metallic (RMH)

  1. Live to dream.. this is still paint as Chevrolet could offer something that everyone wants to see which is a Camaro equipped with the LT5 supercharged 6.2L V8 generating 755 hp.

  2. I’ve recently driven a 2020 Camaro ZL1 1LE. It is an awesome vehicle. Super fast, love that high cf rear wing, and front cf spoiler, the winglets on the sides, the cf insert in the hood, with the 305/315 tires , both on 20″ wheels, 650hp. and the low, and wide profile of the car.

I’ll take this over the Shelby, it can be had for $10,000-$15,000 cheaper than the Mustang….

The Demon puts down the ground pounding power, especially in the Red Eye (797hp.), but, because of it’s higher center of gravity, the rear end keeps busting loose and the car is a handfull. Could have had one for $64,000, thats about $20,000 under msrp. There’s a dealer here that has over 100 Challengers, and Chargers, in stock. His Chevy dealer next door has 5 ZL1’s sitting around including a Green one in the showroom……but, sadly, no C8’s…

  3. One of the main complaints about the camaro is a cave-like interior but gm forces the customers of a ss-1 to chose a black or dark grey interior. Even though other color interiors are available for different trims. A lighter color interior would at least make it feel more open. Maybe its just me but i am really tired of silver cars and black interiors.

    1. Agreed, modern GM is in a weird place marketing wise. Old GM was like Burger King…your way right away. Modern GM makes a great car, teases and advertises that car, then when ypu go to order or pick one up, pulls the switch-a-roo and upcharges for EVERYTHING that should be standard. Or forces you to pay for things you dont want in exchange for what you do want.

    2. Totally agree with you on Silver cars /Black interiors…I don’t have them. I have a CT6 Platinum with Black exterior and Light Cashmere interior. Even the Black interior in this car looks cheap, and this is a $94,000 car

Have a 2017 C7 ZO6 with Velocity Yellow ext. and Black int. with Yellow stitching, Yellow seat belts, and Yellow Jake logos.

I ordered a 2020 C8 with Accelerate Yellow ext. / Black and Rapid Blue inserts with the 3LT interior/ Accererate Yellow seat belts…looks awesome but….I have since cancelled the order since this is May and the car has yet to be built. I have instead put my name on the dealer list for a 2022 C8 ZO6. Not sure what the color options will be yet but the dealers and I are in constant touch….

In my opinion the best exterior colors are Black, White, for Luxury cars…..In the case of the C8 the extreme colors like Accelerate Yellow and Rapid Blue are the awesome poppers along with White and Black because you can do some awesome graphics with these. The C8 interior options are amazing…

The sad thing is too many people are lazy and just don’t care about what they buy when it comes to their second largest purchase, the car. They go online and buy that Jap crap. They don’t go to the dealership, carefully look at the ext/int. color options, and other options and choices.

The manufacturers would love to only offer 1 or 2 color choices, easier and much cheaper for them. Too many people just don’t care. They are looking for the cheapest way to get from here to there. Just wait until all those $12,000 Chinese cars, in Gray, start pouring into the country, the dumbass Americans will suc them up……..

  4. One of my main complaints , again , about the camaro is ths smiley clown face on the front, am i the only one here that can’t stand the front end on these, the ZL-1 has the look i want but a little to much money for me, can’t i have a front look i lust for???

  5. Now they just need to re-instate the two great exterior colors they deleted for 2021 Rally green and Garnet red. Some of the other exterior colors are terrible yet remain available. I just don’t get GM logic these days!

  6. Live to dream.. how expensive would it be to develop a retractable convertible hard-top for the Camaro like the one used by the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette.

  7. Who cares, where are the performance options that are new?!

  8. Another $2,500 sticker package with no hint of performance mods? This is awesome!
