General Motors recently unveiled a comprehensive update to Buick’s sedan portfolio in China, the main highlights of which were the debut of the refreshed 2021 Regal GS, the addition of the Verano GS and the upcoming Excelle GT Mild Hybrid. However, with that announcement, the company also announced the launch of the 2021 Buick LaCrosse, which has just hit dealerships with new features and a higher level of refinement.
Notably, 2021 is the second model year of the third-generation, facelifted LaCrosse which never made it to North America. As such, the 2021 Buick LaCrosse maintains the same design that debuted last year, but receives notable configuration and equipment improvements, reinforcing its position as the brand’s flagship sedan in its largest volume market.
Inside, both the standard 2021 LaCrosse and LaCrosse Avenir include a seat redesign that improves comfort and increases the spaciousness of the second row. This was achieved thanks to the fact that SAIC-GM sculpted into the rear seatbacks, while completely reshaping the rear bench to give it a more ergonomic shape. According to the automaker, the cabin benefits from richer materials and a higher level of craftsmanship.
In addition, the latest iteration of the Buick LaCrosse incorporates an expanded panoramic roof and a nanometer-grade PM2.5 air filter as standard equipment. This combines with dual-zone automatic climate control as well as new ‘AQS’ negative ion air purification and air quality control systems.
Mechanically, all versions of the 2021 Buick LaCrosse continue to be powered by the turbocharged 2.0L LSY four-cylinder engine, producing 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated exclusively to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission, by far the most widely used powertrain combination by GM in China.
The 2021 Buick LaCrosse is now available in dealerships and official online stores that the Tri-Shield brand operates in the Chinese market, the only one in which the sedan is sold. With improvements for the new model year, the LaCrosse seeks to continue to lead the full-size sedan segment in the world’s largest automotive market. The starting prices are as follows:
- LaCrosse: 229,800 CNY (about $32,180 USD at the current exchange rate)
- LaCrosse Avenir: 289,800 CNY ($40,580 USD)

That actually looks pretty good. Too bad Buick NEVER advertises it.
Too bad they are jamming their SUVs down our throats. They had them here and decided that Verano and LaCrosse belong in the country that gave us Corona Virus. May the board of directors throw out this group of assholes!
No one is jamming anything down your throat. Buy something else.
@ The Gentle Grizzly.
Exactly, if anything, the problem is more so that the consumers are lapping up SUV’s and CUV’s.
Yes they Are jamming SUVs down our throats. The makers are all not making anything but trucks and SUVs because they think that’s what everyone wants which is untrue. Just look at Buick that doesn’t make a real car anymore just the garbage SUVs. not that the consumers are lapping them up but that those are the only things being offered so they have no choice. When you go to the store and the shelves only have broccoli, like it or not that’s all your going to eat.
Yes, THEY ARE JAMMING SUVs down our throats here in the USA and sending the newly designed Buick LaCrosse LUXURY SEDANS over to CHINA!!! IT MAKES ME FURIOUS!!! We have loved our high-quality Buick sedans, and our families. We have bought them over and over, year after year. Now this is our reward ?!! I am sickened by SUVs, they all look and ride like small buses. They all look the same!
Grizzly is right; SUVS are rampant because the public buy them in droves and the profit margins are huge; you’ll still find sedans to purchase, but they will be Asian/European models, which for themost part, are better in quality and performance anyways.
Sounds like maybe you should work in GM’s Customer Service Dept. They’ve always had that smart-ass attitude, and it worked for them until foreign manufacturers started to compete in their market. When the buying public saw what Real dependability and quality was like, GM started their slide. We in the buying public ARE Buying Something Else! Thanks.
That is exactly what is happening, car lovers are buying Asian and German made cars. USA automobile builders loss is another builders gain. The Asian auto builders are eating the American auto builders lunch!
So true, when I went to the dealer lots to buy a replacement Lacrosse, they only had 2… but an entire lot full of SUV’s. The 3800 engine was the best that GM ever produced. Too bad they changed directions, probably due to government mandated emissions. And that god awful center console, what happened to the roomy Buick engineering? These young GM engineers killed the Buick brand thus the model didn’t sell. Too bad.
Buick lost me as a customer after they decided to stop selling Buick Cars in the US. I know I am not the only one who feels this way either.
What are you referring to when you say “Buick stopped selling cars in the US?” They still manufacture, and design and engineer here. Not to mention they currently sell the Regal family, Encore, Encore GX, Envision, and Enclave here.
As someone who sells at a Buick-GMC dealership I know exactly what Steve means. And Destin, you are mistaken: the Regal has been discontinued in North America. There are zero sedans (or colloquially, “cars”) available now through Buick (or ever through GMC). Verano, Lacrosse, and Regal are all gone now. Only crossover SUVs with the Buick name.
Personally I and many others blame the poor marketing. When I could get a customer to look at a Buick (maybe they wandered over from our Honda store next door) they were always impressed. Many couldn’t get over the “grandma’s car” association, but many were impressed just by looking inside. If they drove it they were even more impressed. The best they did was the “that’s a Buick??” ads, but those primarily only showed the exterior with almost nothing about the features, like the best quality drive you can get for the money. Total mismanagement, and it’s still going on. With GM production shut down for months we’re down to single digit trucks and single digit SUVs under GMC, but our Buick inventory is as full as ever. No one cares about it. They don’t know why it exists if they even realize it does. It’s very frustrating for those of us who sell them and for those who did appreciate and purchase them.
For whatever reason, GM just generally seems to be giving up on the American market. Every effort, whether it’s car or truck just seems to be the bare minimum to get by. They don’t toot their own horn, there is no creative marketing and if anything does hit the news its about some godawful recall. I think Mary Barra is playing things way too safe… no risk taking, only pulling back on markets and retreating.
@ WSE:
WHAT ?!?!?!
“Giving up on the American market”?
I read a lot of dumb stuff on these forums but you win the prize today.
The cancellation of the LaCrosse and similar cars is a response to the REAL AND EXISTING American market !! Americans don’t buy enough of these vehicles for it to be profitable. End of story.
That American market you refer to buys pick ups, crossovers, and suvs. Far from “giving up”, GM is fielding more of these vehicles and cutting ones whos buyer base is disappearing.
I applaud GM for recognizing reality and taking the appropriate steps instead of pretending it’s 1996.
Mr. Dumb Stuff.
Literally everything you said will be the list of reasons why GM will be the first in line for the next round of federal bailouts when they come, and they will come. GM has to get their act together, stop producing all the “me too” products and get back out in front. SUVs are all the rage now, but as an example, the Blazer is about five years too late to the market and is being met with a collective “meh” from the market. Not to mention build quality problems, engine oil burning problems, electronic problems, trans problems… all of which infected GM’s car line in your chosen 1996 year, but now even their trucks are lagging.
I have leased 3 Buick LaCrosse… They are so beautiful, especially the inside!!! My lease is up in November and I cannot believe I have to lease with another brand… I am so UPSET!!!!
I want a new Buick car, LaCrosse or Avenir, have been waiting to be Abe to buy one,I have had 4 Buicks, I have the Lucerne now, have loved it ,but its 10 years old.
l worked at the Buick engine plant as a General Supervisor and our 3800 engine was considered
the best in GM and some writers scored it best
in the world. I have been loyal to Buick all my life
and purchased Buicks all my life. My Dad and Grampa did the same but I will not purchase any
GM product made outside the US border.
not anymore…and it SUCKS
I loved Buick and had 5 of them, all where great dependable cars. My aunt who worked for GM only drove Buick’s. Those days are now gone as is the cars that made Buick the great car manufacturer it once was. Oh well, there went another part of America’s GREAT history to the Chinese.
I’m glad the Chinese like that “part of Americas GREAT history” and are willing to pay for it.
It appears that Americans are not.
Agreed exponentially!! Why are we supporting the Asians by buying their foreign cars?!!! We should be promoting and advertising with a passion
American cars. We are making them rich by buying their cars and trucks!
Bring back our Buick sedans, I will encourage all my family members and friends!! Lets not give away America’s GREAT history to China!! They
have infiltrated so much of our country!! They even been buying up our farm land!! WAKE UP AMERICA!! WAKE UP Buick!!!
They lost me when they jumped on the chest-freezer-size center console bandwagon. Buick was one of the last sedans with a split bench, or big-buckets / no console interior.
Just keep repairing your Roadmaster then!!
And not all of those center consoles are big enough to keep your family picnic in. There are very sporty crossovers out there you might like with reasonably sized consoles the are very useful. You need to reach really far in your Roadmaster to reach the glove box.
I’m keeping my Verano as long as possible, or seeking out used low mileage Buicks…I am pissed to…but this is the reality…
Me too. LOVE my Verano
If you want people to buy Buicks make them here in the U S not China or somewhere else.
Buick never imported the LaCrosse from China. N.American market cars were built here.
You might check these things before embarrasing yourself.
All current buicks are made in Asia except for the enclave. I work for a buick gmc dealership and we are running outta gmc and barely sell buicks. The Sedan has its market here still. Nobody is buying the other suv except for enclave. I wish they sold the la crosse in the us.
This is false. The only vehicles manufactured in Asia are the Encore, Encore GX, and Envision. The Regal is from Germany and Enclave is American-made.
That’s what he said, that the only Buick from the US is the Enclave.
Enclave is still made in Lansing Michigan. Lacrosse was made in Ontario Canada, Kansas City, and Detroit. Yes, they have models made overseas as part of their partnerships in countries where they sell a lot. Just like how Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, and others manufacture vehicles in the United States. Many Toyotas sold in Japan were manufactured here. Exactly the same situation with the Envision, Encore, etc. They have global partnerships which include agreements to manufacture some vehicles in the countries where they are selling.
The reality is that there is no such thing as “foreign” and “domestic” vehicles anymore. All are part of global manufacturing and distribution systems. Virtually every vehicle you can find for sale in any country has parts made in every continent that has substantial manufacturing operations. It’s time to update your understanding of our modern economy.
What a handsome automobile. I still like sedans better than CUV/SUV’s. I understand the dynamics of fewer sedan sales here but it’s unfortunate to have so few choices when one wishes to support American-owned, USA built companies only.
I have a 2016 Buick lacrosse and her name is kitty kitty I love it.. each to it’s own but buick are good cars regardless where they are made at. USA got to many problems to be worried about who made what. Whatever I want or need I’m going to get it I don’t care if two dogs and a cat produced it this is my opinion and if u don’t like it I don’t give a damn cause I’m cruising in my buick lacrosse KITTY KITTY
why the heck can’t dealers in the U.S. order them for customers who want one? GM is such a mess.
They could have ordered them at anytime while it was in production and they did!
Very, very few people will factory order a car. It takes too long for most people.
But if there was demand for the LaCrosse the dealers would have ordered more of them. Like it or not, people prefer cuvs/ suvs to anything else. Dealers stopped ordering them for stock because so few people asked for it.
When will GM realize that Americans want full size car too! I am sick to think that they are only building smaller cars no full sized Chevorlet, Buick or Cadillac, SAD !
When Americans actually BUY large sedans, GM and others will build them again.
It’s very simple actually.
They can’t buy them if they’re not being made.
They can’t be made if no one buys them.
If you want someone to blame for the disappearance of cars like LaCrosse, aim your venom at your fellow Americans and their buying habits.
I also suggest visiting http://www.goodcarbadcar.com and you can see the slide in sales of LaCrosse and others over the last few years.
If the Fed need more tax money, just increase sales taxes for SUVs and all imports. Then the U.S. citizens will vote with their wallets and buy American sedans.
Imported sedans still cost less, and both GM and Ford cannot sell for less due to union sponsored salaries, while the imports don’t. We can be more nationalists and only buy American, but most buyers really don’t care. Just ask anyone with an import why, and they will respond “Cheaper”.
If you ask me, I bought an Olds Cutlass Ciera, and a Buick Regal before, and I now have a Ford Fusion Hybrid. I defend my point with real purchases.
Good points
But don’t forget that one of the reasons foreign cars gained so much of a foothold in the American market in the first place is partly because of the lack of innovation, price per features, and reliability issues of American brands.
Most people will buy Toyota and Hondas based on their reputations of reliability. Alot of people are buying Kias and Hyundais because of different styling, feature per dollar styling, and long warranties that gave customers piece of mind.
American auto companies got lazy and only changed recently because the foreign competition was eating their shares for lunch. And when they finally decided to modernize their lineup (interior/exterior) they still feel like their playing catchup instead of leading the pack. Except for Dodge, they’ve been pretty successful with their insane “Dodge Power” offerings such as the Chargers, Challengers, and Rams. Although reliability issues still plague them.
Ford is boring. Escape is uninspiring and too expensive for what it is. The Mach E is a cash grab on the Mustang nameplate (looking at you too Chevy Blazer). And the only thing to recently be excited for is the upcoming Bronco (which I am personally excited for!) that will be in high demand and have insane dealer markups for at least the first few years. So you either have to wait or overpay with car loans that are over 7 years long (another subject all together).
Which leads to the current choice for many Americans. What do you spend your hard earned money on? The best bang for your buck? Or the home team that haven’t been giving you their best, but charging you as though they are? Especially when the home team are sourcing parts from around the world, while the foreign completion have built plants in the US creating jobs as well?
Had a 02 impala than an 06 bought the first 11 Regal than a 15 Regal but when 19/20 came and my car choices diminished I bought a 2019 Accord touring.
Sorry GM but bad moves on your part.
I love the looks of this car and I owned a 2006 Buick LaCrosse and now a 2018 Buick Regal Sportback and I’m very upset that Buick doesn’t sell cars in this country anymore. I would never buy a crossover or SUV. If they would advertise and promote the cars in this country maybe their sales would increase. When I bought my Regal there was hardly ANY promotion. Same holds true for the Chevy Impala and now I hear that GM might do away with the Malibu. Terrible situation!
America’s automotive manufacturing and sales trade has turned very, very far south.. GM doesn’t seem to give a sheeeeet!
bring back the lacross, impala, and cadillac xts..
They ought to throw out the CEO of GM for doing this to the USA. We love these sedans and China has done nothing but send us a serious virus. We have to buy a foreign car to buy a sedan because they want big money for the SUVs that they jam down our throats.
If “we love these sedans” why don’t we BUY THESE SEDANS ??
How many LaCrosses have YOU bought?
I love my 2015 Lacrosse… Build on here again and I’ll buy it…NEVER ANYTHING FROM CHINA….WISE UP GM !!!!
The senior citizens that I know want 4door cars not Suvs. Problem is they like the squared off type old Impalas and Crown Vic for their easier visibility. They claim they can’t see out comfortably and so hold on to their old cars.
Are you suggesting that senior citizens are to blame? If one considers the fact that many seniors have long since passed their maximum income producing years and current customer expectations are so vastly different, then it makes sense why they would hold on to their older ‘squared off’ vehicles.
Not bashing, but I just dont believe that seniors are to blame.
Real purdy
I have been buying their CAR’s for over 50 years and do not want a truck, Suv, crossover. I want a car I have had 2 Caddy’s and I think the Buick we have is better quality than a Cad. I will not have a choice! Kia Stinger is looking better and better!
Better hurry!
The Stinger may be dropped.
Only 16k were sold in 2018. 13k last year. And through March this year only 2500.
Doesn’t look promising.
Might I suggest looking into the Buick Regal while you still can…
One of General Motors biggest problems is that their CEO fails to listen to the general public and doesn’t build the cars their advanced research teams develop as this problems stretches from one division to another as one has to wonder why add bits and pieces to a design when they should have jump head forward.. as the 2021 LaCrosse looks more like the Avenir.
@omegatalon
I often find it hard to follow you but that post is indecipherable.
LOL. Is omegatalon drunk writing that?
Of course the 2021 Lacrosse looks like an Avenir. The Avenir is a LACROSSE and is an upgraded model in the line-up. It is not uncommon for features and styling cues from top of the line models to make their way into succeeding model years. I have a 2019 Buick LaCrosse Avenir and people are always staring at it like they have no idea what brand of car it is. It will become more even more difficult when some of the manufacturers no longer put nameplates on the cars, just the logos like the Buick trishield. And the model name.
FIX YOUR FINGERS…
Why Buick isn’t successful in the USA? I like the design, it’s beautiful car. (I’m European)
Americans don’t like large sedans anymore, and especially American made large sedans.
Its sad but true.
Sad but not true. Just look around and you see imported sedans from Asia because they cost less.
Read the statement in its entirety. “Americans don’t like large sedans anymore. Especially large Americans sedans”.
Like it or not, its true, so long as the sedan has European or Asian badges on its quarters.
I’m American and love full sized sedans and would have bought another Impala or a LaCrosse in 2022 if GM made one. Since they don’t it will be import for me and GM loses again! My best friend of 29 years owns two full sized sedans, a 2016 Taurus and a 2015 Impala and would have purchased two more like cars in the next couple of years from GM or Ford but since they dropped all of them he too will be going foreign. So don’t sell this bull that nobody likes American make full sized sedans. Maybe it’s what full sized sedans they made up until last year that people didn’t care for such as the Taurus with it mile wide and long space robbing center console or the terrible rear visibility out of the Taurus/Impala or LaCrosse or the small useless trunk in the Buick.
cadillac just made 3 new types of sedans. i suggest checking out the ct4 ct5 and ct6
Yes but those are not traditional american sedans – those sedans are trying to be BMW and Mercedes wannabes instead of true american sedans like the Lacrosse, Cadillac XTS, Lincoln Continental and Ford Taurus etc.
I know you are going to say but no one is buying those traditional sedans but there is still a small market for them as Toyota is making the Avalon still.
But as long as the auto makers continue dropping their sedans, buyers who want a larger car will look to other manufacturers who do offer sedans. Toyota could likely see an increase in Avalon sales from buyers that are looking for a full-sized sedan, since no other maker is offering them, anymore. If one wants full-sized, that’s where you’ll have to go. Beggars can’t be choosy. And if Toyota could end up selling, say, 150,000 units of the Avalon, it could be possible that GM, Ford or FCA may look into bringing back a “larger’ car. Remember back 35 years ago, when Chrysler introduced the minivan, it became the hot car to have, and all the other car makers jumped on the bandwagon and began selling their version of a minivan. And after 20 years, after the market for minivans cooled, FCA and a few Asian companies, stayed in the market, and still offer minivans, for those who want them. There are still persons who would rather drive a minivan than a SUV.
As an owner of a 2019 Lacrosse Avenir, I must say that it would’ve been nice to have the 2021 model as an option for purchase. I am extremly pleased with the 2019 Avenir as it contrasts favorably against its german and asian competitors. The issue as I see it is that large sedans have fallen out of favor in the US market. My wife drives a 2018 Mazda CX9 and was surprised to learn that the Lacrosse Avenir was a much better vehicle, although not an SUV. The dealer was also surprised that a mid 40 year old customer wouldn’t be interested in an SUV as opposed to a sedan.
I’ve read time and time again where people have demonized Buick for ceasing sedan production in the US. Well, if you want them to build sedan, then buy the sedan! Its really that simple. As far as comparative quality goes, the damn car is just as good as anything in its competitive range. If Buick decides to bring the Lacrosse back to the US, then nay sayers need to line up and buy one. Period.
Lastly, this ‘made in China’ argument is getting long in the tooth. Most people that make statements like that more than likely haven’t taken inventory of items and devices that are in their households. There is so much US commerce with production/manufacturing ties to China that its nearly impossible to avoid purchasing many of the conveniences that we enjoy.
I believe in American manufacturing and production capability, but I also recognize the fact that demand drives availablity.
Yeah, not many consumers seem to mind that their dear Apple iPhones and laptop computers are made in China. As for cars, SUVs and trucks, no manufacturer puts an emphasis on where it’s built, they’re just trying to get you to buy the vehicle. But if one wants to know where a vehicle is built, just look at the Maroney window sticker attached to every new car and truck sold in the USA, It’s listed somewhere on the paper.
I have a 2017 Buick LaCross and love it!
I was shopping for a used car, had test driven a few, but didn’t like any of them. As I was leaving the used car lot of the Cadillac dealership, I jokingly asked, “What’s this car?” as we passed a very sporty looking sedan. When the salesman told me it was a Buick, I just about keeled over. Turned out to be one hell of a smooth ride and was luxurious inside. Gas mileage averages about 33 mpg. I LOVE it. It is definitely not your grandma’s old Buick! (The TV commercial about it not being your Grandma’s car was SO true!)
When I found out they were not going to sell the Buick sedans in the USA, I couldn’t believe it. So sad.
I can tell you that when I show an Envision to any of my friends or relatives they like the vehicle until they check out the window sticker and see the country of origin. It’s on to the Equinox or Terrain usually or a competitor and Ford or FCA.
Buick doesn’t admit that all Encores and gx models are all mfg. In South Korea
“Admit” ???
It’s right on the window sticker! No one has been fooled or lied to.
I own a 2004 Buick LeSabre, and it’s running great after 152K miles. I’ll buy another Buick when the time comes, so I hope they will offer a 4-door sedan then. I don’t want/need a SUV.
Mike M.
Holy mother of god, this is one gorgeous masterpiece, Cadillac could learn a thing or two in the attention to detail department (I’m looking at you CT5’s faux rear quarter window).
I have 2017 Buick LACROSSE very happy with buick I bought brand new with smiles. But now I had 22.503miles.i enjoyed my buick LACROSSE. Oh in high school I had 1972 4 door Buick 225 Electric 4barrel .I that DAVENPORT GMC. ROCKY MOUNT NC. GO BUICK NEED LACROSSE BACK TO USA.
BOYCOTT 中国
Boycott 中国 immediately after I ship my 21 Avenir from there to the U S where it’s hot made no mo.
I considered the LaCrosse but the poor gas mileage was what I could not get over.
BOYCOTT 中国 No matter the personal cost. Let me just get my 21 Avenir on the ship to the U.S. and then absolute boycott. You should start right now tho.
I have a 2013 Buick Lacross and I Love it. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it is small inside. I wish it was more roomy. Have had good luck with it so far
I drive Buick’s and have sold them for 12 years in the past. Over the 18 years in auto-related sales, I’ve sold Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Honda (all at one dealership), Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and now Mazda/Volvo at my current dealership. Out of all the brands I’ve sold and the great number of brands I’ve been exposed to as used cars/trade in cars, I have found Buick to be the overall best and so reliable. Currently, I own two Buicks: 2018 Encore that I just love and purchased new as well as a 2006 Lucerne CXL V8 with 162K that is a dream to drive. Although I enjoy the feel and ride of the Lucerne more, I prefer to drive the Encore due to sitting up higher and the better visibility.
But I’m posting on this article tonight because I just drove my Encore from LA to northern IL to visit my mother. She owns a 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXL. While there, I took the time to drive her car instead of mine (she is elderly and wanted to be driven in her own car). All I can say is that her 2011 drives so well that I now really want one myself. I haven’t driven the most current LaCrosse that was sold in the USA, but if it’s as nice or better than her 2011, then I can tell you it’s one heck of a car. I’d love to have this car from the article being sold here!
I own a 2017 Buick Regal and it’s a pleasure to drive. It’s been reliable thus far and I bought it from a Hertz with 25,000 miles. It has now 41,000 and runs like a dream. Love my Buick!
I’m assuming you, like me, do not care that it’s manufactured and imported from Germany. Such a great car!
We have two Buicks so don’t hating me for saying this but the engineering and the mileage suck. If you want to blame the death of cars then blame management of GM Ford and Chrysler. Prices on cars I’m going up every single year I understand is more technology today than ever before when I first bought my new car in 1973 I paid $6,000 for a Toyota see that you’re hard-pressed to find anything under $20,000. GM in particular needs to find a way to create a motor 200 horsepower that can get 25 miles per hour gallon I remember when they advertise to V8 power and the other down to a lousy 3 cylinder.
Mind that the Lacrosse and Regal was available but few bought them. China is Buick #1 market but if Buick isn’t sold in the US the Chinese will stop buying them, hence the CUVs.
I would suggest one sedan for Buick in the US for an otherwise non excited brand.
Great, they are making luxury cars for Chinese people and we are supposed to be impressed? So GM is doing great but not in North America. A billion new full size cars on the road in China, where will they find the oxygen or the space for that many new cars? Fuck GM, we should have let them die off in 2009.
I have just purchased my third Regal, a GS that is one of the most beautiful cars on the road. This new Lacrosse is right up there in looks. GM seems completely unable to successfully market their products. Since 2011, the Regal has been an outstanding vehicle, but GM made no real attempt to sell them.
I purchased a 2010 Buick lacrosse cxs a year ago with 42,000 miles and in mint condition. Absolutely love it. Family owned Buick dealership, that serviced the vehicle for the previous owner down through the years. This is a head turner inside and out, has just as many bells and whistles has my wife’s Mercedes gl450,except for the horses, but it’s such a smooth and beautiful car, America has lost a gem.
you have the 3800 V6 engine, named one of the best engines ever made by WARD’S , properly cared for you may never wear it out, 152K is barely broken in Mike Motley
Wow. Absolutely beautiful. Great job GM.
I drive a Buick Lucerne and would love to trade it in for a Lacrosse or XTS. My issue is why are the foreign companies still making full size cars? Toyota Avalon, Lexus ES and LS, Kia, Nissan Maxima etc… I know these models are not selling well but they are still made. BMW and Mercedes still make sedans too. It’s only USA who does not.
Some of us still want a full size american car with plush seats, quiet engine, wonderful ride and features like cornering lights! Plus the insurance rates are very low on american sedans 🙂
Sold Buicks for 25 years. Own a Lacrosse. Bring back the Lacrosse for U.S. market…GM/Mary Barra, please Listen to your USMarket. We all don’t want an SUV
We have a Lucerne and love it had a Lasaber before both a great cars. Wished they would bring the Lacrosse to the U.S. better yet START BUILD IN THEM HERE!!!!!!!
A lot of sentiment for a car no one was buying.
I loved my 2000 LeSabre which had just about every option save leather seats and would have bought a LaCrosse if they continued making them as a choice along with an MCE Impala for 2022 or 2023. But now that they have made Buick into a cute ute only brand and dropped all full sized sedans I lost all interest in this company! Even my 81 year old mother was upset when she heard this travesty on the news that they were dropping most of their cars including the Cruze which she currently owns a 2016 LT. GM will continue to lose market share and shrink even more in the coming years on the path Barra has chosen. But that’s okay because she will continue making her millions in profit sharing so she doesn’t care one bit!
I have a 2010 Buick lacrosse also. Beautiful car, i bought it with 67000, now 167000 road miles. Need a new one for the road. Just don’t need to get in debt right now. Hopefully I’ll find one before i retired.
I have a 2007 Buick Lacrosse CXL. Nice pearl white with gray leather. Bought it from a 92 year old woman who was about to go into a nursing home. She bought it new and they babied that car. Only had 65k miles. 3.8l v6 pushrod motor. I have 98k on it and still drives like new. Nice low end torque. Shifter is on the column which is a bit strange for a car. I got stopped by a cop cause a headlight was out. He asked me straight up if I had the 3.8l and we chatted for 5 minutes about the engine. He let me go with a warning. 🙂
Buicks have been in our family for generations.
We currently own 3, a 2013 Lacrosse, a 1995 Rivy & 1983 Rivy drop top
Unfortunately these may be our last Buicks we own.
After turning wrenches for 46 years exclusively on G.M. vehicles, I am fed up with the lack of regard G.M. shows it’s supporters.
I will be looking forward to leaving the trade as well as G.M.
I have a 2006 buick lucerne. Bought it with 62 thousand now has 153000. Only problem I had I put a transmission in it. After 3000 grand I’m driving it till the wheels fall off. My son getting ready to start driver I’ll just let him beat it up the rest of the way
Who is Megeebee? A crisis control robot for GM? I see reply after reply from Megeebee each time with a seriously sarcastic mono tone. People may not have all the facts Megeebee, but they are entitled to their opinion weather its right or wrong. Is it your goal to make sure you correct everyone? How many Lacrosse’s have you owned?
Own a 2011 Buick LaCrosse . Bought new. Was investigating buying a new lacrosse when I learned that the lacrosse was discontinued in US. This is a bad decision. The platform was good. They should have kept it affordable and keep it in US. Very dissatisfied. Next sedan would have been a Lacrosse 2020 or 2021 if it was available here. Will look elsewhere.
If you frequent this site then you should have known that the Lacrosse was being discontinued by Buick. You actually had ample time to look around for a new Lacrosse before the stock was depleted. I was able to find exactly what I wanted (a 2019 Satin Steel Lacrosse Avenir with the graphite and brown leather interior and the Driver Package) in the Fall of 2018 at another dealer in my state. My dealer got it for me and there you go! The last two generations of the Lacrosse were very nice. I owned a 2011, then a 2015, and now my 2019.
I’ve owed 7 Buick LaCrosses, each better each time. It is truly sad they are no longer available here in North America. I also have owned 4 Chevy Suburbans. When I want to drive and SUV, I’m not driven to a Buick. When I want to drive a sedan the LaCrosse was my choice. Now it is time to replace my 2017 LaCrosse and GM doesn’t have a model I want.
I have bought Buick’s for years and Love them. When the SUV got shoved through my throat. I was done. I still have a 2020 LaCrosse, but thinking about a new one. I will not buy an SUV!! Hate them, I like dependability and style. I am not a soccor mom. I have loved everyone of my Buicks. and the great ride. Guess I’ll find a real car somewhere elsel and I am not the only one I talk to. We need choices. I also have a GMC truck and also silverado truck. No need for a SUV. Thank you. Go back a few years and you will sell more vechiles. I walk in a dealership, Chevy, Buick or whatever. See all SUV’s and walk out. Guess I’ll go get me a horse and buggy. LOL
Yes, me to love our 2019 Buick regal Sport Back GS. Been buying GM for 50 years do not want an SUV, truck. I have a 1999 S 10 extreme all original (put away for winter) a 2019 Vette GS. Might be looking at a Challenger down the road since FCL is infesting millions in their CDN assembly plant!
I have been purchasing GM cars (NEW) since 1965 and almost all of them have been built in the US Of A. I am CDN so would you buy a vehicle built in Canada!?
I like it. I do not care where it’s built. I’ve owned hundreds of vehicles since that age of 14, imports, domestic, custom, classic, self-built, high end, and yes there are some diffs but when you get down to it cars are like humans…we all got a little of everything in us all.
I have driven a full size Buick sedan since 1970. I am currently driving a 2014 LaCrosse. It looks like I will switch brands for the first time in my life with the purchase of my next and probably last car. This truly saddens and unsettles me.☹️
Still have my 2012 Crystal Red Tintcoat Buick LaCrosse;partial hybrid – have 47,000 miles on it. Love it to the moon and back. Love the “heads-up” display. Wonder if newer cars have that. This is the best car I have ever had. Still looks like new and many times I’ve been approached by people in a parking lot wanting to know if I’d be interested in selling it. NOPE. Only reason I’d ever consider SUV or whatever…Encore, etc. is because whenever/wherever I park…typically a huge truck or SUV will park on either side of me. Makes backing out of space testy at times, but I deal with it. My first ever Buick was a beautiful 1989 Riviera. It was a fantastic vehicle – never any problem of any kind.
Thanks for sharing information in your blog

First, they made few sedans, didn’t do any advertising, priced them ridiculously high, and forced the market to dry up on sedans so, they produced SUVs and nothing else. It is either an SUV or a full fledged truck. All in the name of PROFITS. They care about their bonuses and high salaries and retaining their jobs, since profitability is uppermost in the minds of these mental midgets, and they try tos atisfy the stockholders. Customers can go to hell, but the sstockholder must get a return on his or her investment. This is true with Ford, Chrysler , and GM. They only want our money, and shove what is the most profitable onto us. If you like a sedan, buy a Toyota or Nissan or something else and go away. They love getting their profits from countries like China. A true American company.
