There’s no question that the new 2020 Corvette is a true head-turner when it comes to aesthetics, with mid-engine proportions that lend an almost exotic quality to the vehicle. However, properly dressed, the C8 Corvette demands even more attention, as evidenced in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
This particular 2020 Corvette is a 3LT Stingray Coupe model covered in Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic paint. This particular hue appears to jump off the new Vette’s body panels, gleaming in the sun like the calm waters after which it’s named.
The blue is complemented by the optional Full Length Dual Racing Stripe package, which runs from tip to tail in a pair of Sterling Silver bands.
To help offset the bright blue and silver coloring, this 2020 Corvette is also equipped with black-colored wheels, namely the five-open-spoke Carbon Flash-painted aluminum rollers with a machined edge. Sizing comes in at 19 inches in front and 20 inches in the rear.
It’s a nice combo, that much is for sure, but the interior is really the cherry on top (baked in?) with regard to aesthetics. As we can see, the cabin space on this 2020 Corvette is covered in Natural Dipped upholstery, giving it a warm look compared to the cool colors seen outside.
Of course, we have to at least mention that this interior color treatment can result in a dash glare on sunny days, as we covered previously. The fix for this issue is a pair of polarized sunglasses.
Regardless, this 2020 Corvette simply demands attention on the street thanks to its attractive color combination. And with a mid-mounted 6.2L V8 LT2 on board for motivation, rest assured it has the performance to back the aesthetics.

The stripes are really an over-the-top sort of thing as the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette is striking and is a head-turner as from how it looks to how it sounds, seeing one will turn the head of most people.
i’m not a fan of stripes too but this combination looks pretty good.
Like the exterior color. Hate the interior color- SB black! Don’t like the stripes!!!
James, you just described my C8 HTC, ELB, Black Interior, no stripes. You did not mention wheels, but I am sure you would go with the Spectra Gray Tridents.
Blue is beautiful. The interior clashes with the stripe. Would go better with black/white/yellow/red .
The color looks like a renamed Hyper Blue Metalic I have on my Camaro.
KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid
leave it stock looks best in my humble opinion :+)
I think it’s stunning
One of the best color combos available Love It!
Throw away the stripes…….it’s not a Shelby Mustang!!! And, why would GM ruin such a beautiful car with such ugly cheap looking wheels?
I know, don’t ask for a polished wheel………….you aren’t politically correct!
I’m not crazy about the stripes, either, as well as the interior, which would have looked better in black, and would match the wheels, but if the owner wanted to go with the total race-boy look, he should have gone with the bigger spoiler, on the back.
I AM ordering same colors in/out but CONVERTIBLE and w/gray wheels with silver trident to match stripe andGT2 (2LT) interior so NO TAN leather on dash. Just waiting for AWD!
nice
I’ve never liked stripes on a car unless they are racing cars which help the spotters to check on the car and the pit crew as well, and even officials who pair stripes and colors with the numbers to make it easier all around. Apparently, regular cars started to be stripes as a, “statement”: my car is sinister; or sometimes it would be driven to the track and then driven home after the race with its stripes. There are people who know more about striping history than I do. Of course I’ve seen stripes of one form or anther all over American and foreign cars for that matter for decades. It wasn’t for me. No I’ve found a C8 in the showroom that was optioned close to the way I like it, but not exactly. I’ve finally come to grips with the fact that some people like racing stripes of ID stripes on their cars (ie: Posche stripes for many years, low down on the doors and rockers, sometimes with the name Porsche within the stripes, or on some occassions the model number. Chrysler Corporation cars and MG’s and Triumphs and certain British cars sported stripes and even the Union Jack on their cars. When I’m being honest with myself, stripes are all about a person’s taste. Some like them and some don’t. Then, some people like tattoos and some don’t. Like car stripes and hash marks etc. their is always a right way and a wrong way to do it. Often, the wrong way, is how it gets done.
You don’t see many Cadillacs, Lincolns, Rolls-Royces, or Bentleys sporting stripes! Ninety-five percent of the time it’s on small, sporty cars.
Alex, I am with you on the stripes on Corvettes. They just seem out of place.
There are some cars that wear their stripes very nicely. One example that I like is the stripes on my Gen 2 Blue and White Viper in my Garage.
Parking on the LH side of the street is illegal in all 50 states for several good reasons.
Unless, of course, it’s a one-way street!
Actually I was going to order ORANGE, WITHOUT stripes. Stripes was my last option when I changed to blue. Maybe, because I LOVED my BLUE/WITH STRIPES 1997 VIPER, and HAVE a BLUE W/ white COBRA. I would like to SEE it live on the ‘vette first. I have plenty of time before AWD is available.
Stripe and black rims ruin it for me. The darker non chrome wheels would make this color pop a lot more than black.
This car looks spectacular. Because Orange and Red and white all look so spectacular, one has to have a lot of courage to buy a car in a color, Elkhart (that has a word attaching Chevrolet tradition) that is very good looking, but makes more than one statment and leaves both the owner and the viewer attempting to understand the statement and just what it is saying. The torch Red leaves no room for misinterpretation as to what is being said. I’m fast, I can corner, I’m badass. Ferrari: I’m comin’ for you.
There is NO statement. I have a YELLOW ‘vette (with black rims) so cars can SEE me to avoid collisions. Black, Red and White ‘vettes are too numerous; read BORING. Blue is different; pretty, like my ’66 AC Cobra and at least I will find MY car in a crowded parking lot full of boring Black…’vettes. Orange WAS my 1st choice until I saw a live 2019. Still my 2nd choice for NO REASON! And I Have a Harley and a 1 off custom chopper. I suppose they both SHOULD have FLAMES?! NOT!
I applaud the owner. Blue with tan interior. If I never see a black on black car again it would be too soon. I am so tired of white black and silver cars and all black interiors. I just can’t even look at them no matter how nice the actual car. So unfortunate that people are so afraid of peer pressure that they pretend to like black on black.
Looks wayyy too much like a Ford GT.
I have a Black Mustang Bullitt because I did not want in 2001 to have the Green one that everyone else was getting and the blue color was hideous. As for Paul, thank you for sharing your diverse collection. Even providing all these examples reflects your personality and your likes and dislikes and therefore, “…makes a statement.” My first intent was to acquire a Rapid Blue Vette and I still think it is a beautiful color. While I kind of like yellow, the very light aspect with a bit of green in it was not my favorite. I like the Racing Yellow in my 2012 Porsche Carrera, but I didn’t want to duplicate my Porsche with another yellow, even one that I don’t care for as much as the one I have on another car. Back to “black,” some people specify black because they think that the sheet metal is done better on black cars because it is so difficult to hide imperfections under a black paint job. The Torch Red paint job shows off the curves and angles of the C8. Lastly, as to the Corvette looking like a Ford GT: no it doesn’t, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Love the color combination of Blue/Tan. It seems like every cart on the road has a black interior. Don’t care for all the stripes. Car is stunning on its own and the stripes take your attention away from the body lines. Not sure on the heritage fender stripes. Prefer the Spectra Gray Trident Wheels over the black wheels. Have an order on a 2021 C8 and after seeing these photos will go with the Elkhart Blue, Tan Interior with gray wheels and no stripes.
Dan – I like your color choices. I got “stuck” with a black interior, because that is what a C8 had on it at the time, that I had a chance to buy. That and some stripes that came on it weren’t my favorite. I do prefer black on the dash because of that quirk of a reflection that other C8 drivers have warned against in beige or dipped interiors on LT2’s and 3’s. Either two tone seats or color over-ride is the only way to option the C8 the way man people would really want it. Also, Rapid Blue paint, so wonderful on the exterior of the C8 looks overwhelming to me. Same with a few other colors where it looks like the interior is “painted on,” in a manner to match the exterior. Maybe the people who option heavy use of bright colors on the interior won’t get tired of them. Maybe. Taste. It’s what makes a meal have good flavor and is what makes art and car, “very personalized.”
Alex, Thanks. You can get a black dash with the Natural Mulian or Napa Leather Seats. This is a Black and Tan interior without having two tone seats. The interior does not look like a tan bathtub. I think it gives the car a richer look. Have not seen an Elkhart Blue in person. Hope to soon since a dealer in my area will be getting one with the blue/black interior.
Dan, you are welcome. Looking around the blogs, I note today that Indiana has been building a nice backlog supply of C8 central frames/chassis. The body panels are likely being produced as well and of course, Bowling Green Assembly Plant has its own world class paint shop. Engines come out of New York and until lately, the Dual Clutch Transmission comes out of Mexico. It is interesting that the C8’s transmission has the coincidence of being an 8-speed in the mid-engine Corvette. That is the tiniest of Easter Eggs that I’m sure others have pointed out long ago, but I just missed it. I saw an add for two or three C8’s, a couple at dealers. They were on e-bay. The cheapest listed was $105K; there was a 123K and I believe 115K; one guy was attempting to sell his place in line for $7K. How does that work? I mean you have a deposit with the dealer. How do you “sell” your place in line? The only way I can see that happening would be to buy the car and then immediately sell the car that put down 7K for the right to pay full price plus any dealer over sticker charges that might accrue. I just don’t know how things like that work.
Alex, I have a refundable deposit with a local dealer with a purchase price at MSRP. Do to the present economy you should be able to get a C8 at list and maybe below. I was at another dealership yesterday when a customer ordered C8 arrived. Dealer said the buyer backed out of the sale because of the present economic down turn and the car was now for sale. I believe you will see that happening around the country. Dealers put cars on Ebay at a high prices in hopes of getting into a bidding war with two people. I know of people calling the dealer after the auction ends and getting the car for much less than listed. A friend picked up a GT350 from a dealer who had it on eBay at 10,000 over MSRP and got it at List.
Anyone know when dealers will start placing orders on 2021 models?
Seeing a number of C8 front end crashes on line. Is it because new owners are not accustom to driving a mid-engine car or the car it self. Interesting, I think it’s the driver.
This thread is getting long, but it is about color and design choices on an unbelievable Sports car, so this is understandable. This post is just to let all of you who commented upon color or wheels or exhaust, that yesterday I was kicked off of the Corvette Forum permanently for commenting upon the detail choices of the beautiful Green personalized paint job that someone did on their C8, changing it from the original dark gray color. I had also just finished reading a lengthy group of comments/posts by member about how contentious and angry a portion of the posts and comments are on the Corvette Forum. So Speed Phenom is kicked off the Willow Springs Raceway by a track master for driving a C8 at a Ford even in which he brought a couple of Fords; and I get kicked off the Corvette Forum for commenting upon color and accents or wheel choices. Thing was, the original idea of the post (redirected from another story I think, but I’m not sure) was to discuss the color choice and cange by a C8 owner. By the way, what I did was not a violation of any posted rule per se. AF
Alex, I would not loose a lot of sleep over getting kicked off the Corvette Forum. Some fairly small minded moderators that will allow their buddies to get away with anything while us non-a&& kissers get the boot. After one time getting the slap down, I voluntarily left that Forum.
Happy trails to them.
Completely agreed, James. Thanks. AF
Alex, life goes on. Keep the faith.
