Rare 2020 Hertz Camaro SS Headed To Online Auction In May

Earlier this year, car rental company Hertz unveiled its new high-performance 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS rental vehicles, which are specially outfitted by Hendrick Motorsports and feature a Hertz and NASCAR-inspired theme.

Now one of these rare Hertz Camaro SS models is headed to Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming May online auction, giving race fans a rare opportunity to own one of the Hendrick-built Chevys.

All Hertz Camaro SS models feature a gloss black exterior with yellow Hertz vinyl decals, 20-inch satin black wheels with ‘No. 24’ center caps, embroidered ‘No 24’ headrests, yellow interior trim and a Hertz/Hendrick Motorsports build plaque. The naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 small-block LT1 engine also gets a 25-horsepower increase thanks to a Chevrolet Performance intake and cat-back exhaust system, giving it a total output of 480 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. All examples of the special edition Camaro SS and ZL1 feature the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

This particular model is No. 188 of 224 Hertz Camaro models built for 2020. The Hertz Camaro rental cars are the result of a partnership between Hertz and NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports, which features the rental company’s branding on the No. 24 Camaro ZL1 entry of Alex Bowman for select NASCAR races. This car appears to have been retained by Hendrick Motorsports for auction or promotional purposes, as the listing indicates the auction winner will have to pick it up from Greensboro, North Carolina – which is where Hendrick’s headquarters are located. The car appears to be brand new and does not have any mileage listed.
