Here’s How Much Stuff You Can Fit In The 2020 Corvette C8’s Two Trunks: Video

One of the biggest concerns among existing Chevrolet Corvette owners when the Corvette C8 was in development was if the mid-engine sports car would still have enough room for luggage, golf bags and other large items. General Motors recognized this widely held concern and addressed it, giving the vehicle a total of 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume between its front and rear trunks.

YouTuber and 2020 Corvette C8 owner ‘Brink of Speed’ recently decided to show his viewers just how much stuff he could fit in the trunk of the car for a clearer, real-world depiction of how big the vehicle’s two cargo cavities are.

The rear trunk in the 2020 Corvette C8 seems to get most of the attention online, as it was specifically designed to hold golf clubs – something middle-aged and elderly Corvette buyers have deemed extremely important. As demonstrated in this video, though, the size of the front trunk is also quite impressive. The owner of the vehicle in this video manages to fit a carry-on suitcase, a duffel bag and a decently sized women’s handbag in the front trunk area alone – more than enough for a weekend getaway. While the front trunk opening isn’t very big, it makes up for it with its depth. In the rear cargo area, Brink of Speed manages to fit a golf bag, a duffel bag and a backpack with room for another soft bag.

While the mid-engine Corvette C8 does not have as much cargo space as the Corvette C7, which had a volume of 15 cubic feet, we think it still has more than enough storage for a two-seat sports car. It even has more cargo space than the current sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro, which has a paltry 9 cubic feet of storage space. That said, the Camaro’s back seats could be used to store bags, luggage and other items if they are not being used.

Check out the video embedded below for a more complete picture of just how much cargo space the mid-engine 2020 Corvette has.

  1. In an age of social distancing 2 trunks are great to keep the kids apart.

  2. This is dumb, although I love the C8, and I’m so glad we finally went mid engine, when the C9 comes out I want it to have a smaller frunk. The frunk needs to only be big enough for the electric motor powering the front wheels. Who cares about old men having some damn golf clubs, carry them in your Lexus, or Benz!!! Corvette is a sports car with lots of horsepower and torque, the only thing that should matter is low weight, speed, torque, all wheel drive, and more speed!!! The weight should less than 3300lbs which is dry weight, other than the weight and extra length for cargo space I love the C8!!!!

  4. Well let tell you something Barry Renaud I’m not a millennial, I will be 44 in May, I’m a real car who only wants Corvette to be the best sport car/exotic maybe borderline hyper car with future gas/hybrid technology that Chevy is talking introducing with the future variants of the C8, I don’t listen to this Chevy want the Corvette to become fat bloated Grand Tourer or too fat like the Camaro,Mustang, or Challenger. So next time please know your stuff before you respond!!!!

  5. One has to wonder whether we’ll have this same discussion in a couple of years when Chevrolet introduces the C8 Corvette Z06 and ZR1 where the car is expected to become a hybrid for faster acceleration times and higher top speed.

  6. It all goes hand and hand, lower weight even more top speed, faster 0-60, faster 0-100!!!! The current C8 without Z51 aero tops out at 194, if it weighed less it would easily hit 200 or more!!!! Cut weight Chevrolet/GM!!!! Are you listening Tadge?!!!!

    1. Weight has absolutely nothing to do with top speed. That is all about aerodynamics and horsepower.
