Chevrolet Argentina sales decreased 41 percent to 2,547 units in March 2020. The figures place Chevrolet as the third best-selling car brand in Argentina, behind Toyota and Volkswagen.

Individual model sales performance was as follows:
- Chevrolet Camaro sales decreased 100 percent to 0 units
- Chevrolet Cobalt sales decreased 92.59 percent to 4 units
- The vehicle has been discontinued and is being replaced indirectly by the all-new Chevrolet Onix Plus
- Chevrolet Cruze sales decreased 27.67 percent to 217 units
- Chevrolet Equinox sales decreased 50 percent to 43 units
- Chevrolet Onix sales increased 12.53 percent to 1,626 units
- Chevrolet Prisma sales decreased 86.88 percent to 141 units
- The vehicle is being replaced by the all-new Chevrolet Onix Plus
- Chevrolet S10 sales decreased 49.24 percent to 267 units
- Chevrolet Spin sales decreased 40.63 percent to 114 units
- Chevrolet Tracker sales decreased 78.69 percent to 114 units
- Chevrolet Trailblazer sales decreased 71.23 percent to 21 units
During the first three months of the 2020 calendar year, Chevrolet Argentina sales decreased 30 percent to 9,899 units.

The GM Authority Take
Chevrolet Argentina sales experienced a substantial decrease in March, representing the biggest drop so far this year. Last month’s negative performance is mainly due to fewer sales days, after the country’s authorities shut down automotive registrations on March 19th to contain the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. The pandemic further complicates the circumstance in the Argentine market, which is going on two years of systematic decline in vehicle demand due to a major economic recession.
Nine of the ten models that Chevrolet markets in Argentina registered negative performance, all with notable double-digit drops. The Chevrolet Onix was the only vehicle to achieve an increase, both during March as well as during the first three months of the year, thanks to warm acceptance of the all-new, second generation model. This allowed the Onix to remain the best-selling car in Argentina for the second consecutive month.
