Cadillac XT4 Midnight Sport Package Improves Crossover’s Look Considerably

The Cadillac XT4 is sportier and more youthful-looking than Cadillac‘s other utility vehicles, so it already has a bit of a unique character to it, but there’s one somewhat lesser-known way to improve the appearance of the compact luxury crossover.

Not many Cadillac XT4 buyers are opting for the available Midnight Sport Package, but we think this equipment group is worth having a look at. The package adds a unique grille to the Cadillac XT4 and, more importantly, unique multi-spoke alloy wheels. Together, these upgrades give the XT4 a more athletic look that we think would go over well with younger buyers.

We configured a Crystal White Tricoat painted Cadillac XT4 Sport to help point out the differences between a standard version of the crossover and a Cadillac XT4 Midnight Sport Package. The standard XT4 Sport comes with 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, while the Midnight Sport Package comes with large 20-inch split seven-spoke wheels with an After Midnight Metallic finish. The wheels come wrapped in 245/45R20 all-season rubber and feature black center wheel caps with a colored Cadillac crest.

The grille is set apart from the XT4 Sport’s thanks to its black surround and black mesh insert, which appears more geometric and detailed. The shinier finish also makes the grille pop a bit more, drawing more attention to its design than the mesh grille it replaces.

Both the wheels and grille are offered with the Cadillac XT4 Midnight Sport Package, which is priced at $2,490 in the United States. Buyers can also buy each of these parts individually, with the 20-inch split seven-spoke wheels priced at $1,995, and the black grille priced at $495.

It’s worth noting that neither of these items is available on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels with the Galvano (chrome) surround grille and Galvano finish, or alternative 20-inch wheel options. Similarly, it is not available on Sport trim levels equipped with the available Sport Dynamics Preferred Package.

The Cadillac XT4 Sport trim level starts at $40,790 in the United States before incentives or taxes, including a $995 destination fee. To reiterate, the Midnight Sport Package adds $2,490 to the price of the crossover.

  1. I’m not really big on the midnight thing, but I’m planning on those wheels. Still don’t like the dark fender lips, -not on a Cadillac of any size or price!

  2. Great wheels kick up EVERY vehicle…. these make it look MUCH better… crappy wheels need to be outlawed…

    1. xjug: You are totally correct in that great wheels do a ton for any vehicle. You are also correct in crappy wheels should go. But here’s my issue: Those great looking 20’s on this car will really degrade the ride of the car and the rims will all be chewed up from curbs due to no sidewall. My issue is that they (all brands) make the smaller (more preferred for me and many others for the better ride quality) so ugly and then make the huge wheels look great. No, an 18″ rim with the exact same style as a 20″ rim may not look quite as good, but there is zero reason they can’t make the same style/good looking rim in both 18 and 20″. Nope, they always seem to design ugly smaller rims. I guess they just do that to push people to spend $2-3,000 just for rims.

        1. Dan & Robert – you’re 100% correct. It would be nice then, if stylists could make the vehicles look better with smaller wheels. The openings are big and small wheels look like the skinny dork on the beach…. hey stylists, HELP!!

  3. Cadillac XT4, a Chevrolet Equinox in disguise.. they’re both about the same size except for price as the Equinox is over $10K cheaper.
