Prices For The 2020 Corvette Are Sky High Right Now

There are plenty of people out there that absolutely must own the latest and greatest product to hit the market, and the 2020 Corvette is no exception. Now, with the first examples of the new mid-engine Corvette having been shipped across the U.S. and Canada, some owners and dealers have decided to take advantage of the demand and make a healthy profit in the process.

Multiple listings for the new mid-engine 2020 Corvette are now flooding online, with posts seen on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and craigslist. Some carry inflated price tags, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering the huge demand for the all-new Vette.

One example is listed with the top 3LT trim, Z51 package, high wing spoiler, 5-trident-spoke wheels, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control, among several other options. While clearly loaded with extras, the sticker price is set at $88,220. Meanwhile, the vehicle is on eBay with a “Buy It Now” price of $119,900.

Another example is listed with the 2LT trim level and Z51 Performance Package, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, GT2 Bucket Seats, and few other aesthetic upgrades, with the sticker price set at $81,290. The “Buy It Now” price for that vehicle is set at $125,000.

Now, with GM production suspended in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, availability of these vehicles will be even tighter, which makes it even more likely that impatient buyers will be willing to shell out serious coin to be one of the first to own a new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen inflated prices for the new 2020 Corvette. Back in November, we covered one eBay listing that sought to sell a 1LT coupe at a firm $110,000. What’s more, the listing wasn’t even for a vehicle that was already built, but rather was for a build slot.

All told, it’ll be interesting to watch what folks are willing to pay to get their hands on the new 2020 Corvette, especially with the recent production suspension now in play.

  1. Oh we see this all the time in the to be the first people who over pay for a couple weeks of celebrity.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Shop around and you will find dealers not playing games.

  2. Buy it now for 125k, 6 months later it’s worth 40k, Fools!

  3. I can pay 100,000 cents for a 2020 Corvette. That is a six figure number, too, and a U.S valid coin.

  4. I mentioned this a few times, dealer “market demand” is what gives dealerships their bad reputation. It will one day force the industry to go 100% on line sales from the manufactures site, not dealer sites. I just finished a survey authorizing by GM for my four month old Camaro. There was a section of questions about on line sales.

    1. Why? It’s the laws of supply & demand at work. See Toilet Paper right now. If you don’t want to pay over market, shop around or wait a couple months. If you absolutely have to be first to have the newest shiniest object out there, you’ll pay a premium.

No it’s all the New Guy never owed a used Corvette who have YouTube channels and most of them have horrible taste with that Ugly High Wing what a bitch to get things from the bottom of the trunk! The wraps and mismatched door Jambs, Frunk and Trunk lids! Never going to win best anything they take a car and butcher them and people are all awesome!
We have built in our home garage C4’s C5’s C6’s and C7’s that appeal to the mass and people want!
Being a loyal New Corvette Buyer I have met Tadge at the Cape Kennedy Rocket Garden as a VIP guest Unveil of C8.R Wow! I want one too! They also unveiled the new C8 Convertible which I prefer over the coupe it reminds me of the 1970’s Corvette Coupes that had the vertical rear window plus the engine won’t flood out in a Florida downpour while sitting at a red light! Just Venting! Love Chevrolet Power forever and always!

  5. Anyone who has been around Corvettes for the debut of a new generation a few times knows that typically the first year is not the one to have. Maybe this one will be different, but if I wanted one? I would wait for the ’21’s.

  9. The fact that people are asking these prices doesn’t mean anyone is paying that much. There was a 1LT on ebay that “sold” for $100K, but the buyer never paid for it, and the car is still for sale.

  10. I have 2 orders one is stuck at 3000 because my dealership ordered for stock with my name as reference and not a sold order!!! Our second order the dealership didn’t have an allocation but 3 days prior to shut down in BG we got word we have an allocation and we are in for 2020. Now who knows? We have bought mass quantities of new Corvettes and for our years of loyalty to the Brand so with C8 we are just a
ZERO Nothing in ever receiving a C8. Our first order was July 2019 plus we bought a new 2019 GS Convert still just a nobody!!!
