Callaway Releases Supercharged SC560 Tuning Package For GMC Yukon: Video

Certified General Motors tuning company Callaway Cars recently pulled the wraps off of its new Chevrolet Tahoe SC560 package, which gives the fourth-generation of the SUV a bit more grunt thanks to a Callaway-developed blower.

Now, Callaway Cars has released details on the GMC Yukon SC560 package, which is essentially identical to the Tahoe package. The centerpiece of the build is the aforementioned Callaway supercharger, which adds 140 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque to the stock 6.2L L86 V8’s output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. That means a 6.2L V8-equipped Yukon SC560 is rated at a significant 560 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 553 pound-feet of torque at 3,800 rpm.

Callaway also has owners of 5.3L L83 V8-powered Yukons covered thanks to the SC480 package. With Callaway’s supercharger installed, the smaller V8 engine is good for 480 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 477 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm – up from the stock output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque.

In addition to the supercharger, both the SC560 package and the SC480 package come with Callaway’s own TripleCooled intercooler system, a high-flow intake and a high-flow exhaust.

A number of cosmetic upgrades are included in the two packages as well, such as Callaway interior and exterior badging, Callaway-branded key fobs, Callaway premium floor mats and a numbered underhood plaque. Optional extras include a big brake package, a handling package, a rough terrain package and 22-inch Callaway wheels. A Sport Interior Group option is available, too, which adds sport pedals and a sport steering wheel.

It’s worth noting that Callaway’s two upgrade kits are compatible with all GMC Yukon trim levels and can be installed on both RWD or 4WD model variants. The same kit is also compatible with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, along with the Cadillac Escalade.

Callaway’s supercharger kit may be appealing to owners of new GM vehicles, as Callaway-tuned cars retain the full factory warranty. Callaway has its own three-year / 36,000-mile powertrain warranty, which overlaps with the factory warranty, and offers a 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty for an additional cost. Callaway-tuned GM vehicles can also be ordered directly from GM dealerships.
