The Cadillac CT5 began arriving at dealerships in the United States and Canada last December, but with dealer showrooms closed and GM’s production output hampered by the coronavirus pandemic, many General Motors fans may have yet to even see one in the real world.
If any of our readers count themselves among those folks, then worry not, because Cadillac recently sent over a live photo gallery showing the Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury driving on public roads. It may not be the same thing as seeing one in person, but we hope it will at least hold Cadillac enthusiasts over until dealerships open back up for walk-in business.
As some readers may already know, the Cadillac CT5 follows the automaker’s relatively new Y-trim level strategy. Under this directive, all Cadillac vehicles are offered in base Luxury trim and branch out to Sport or Premium Luxury trim levels. Premium Luxury models feature unique front and rear fascias, bright chrome exterior trim, a Galvano grille and red taillamp housings.
By comparison, the Cadillac CT5 Sport features more aggressive front and rear fascias, gloss black exterior trim, body-color accents, a black grille, neutral density taillamps (or clear), rocker extensions and sporty-looking alloy wheel designs. The CT5 Sport also has a quad-tip exhaust, while the Premium Luxury model features a dual-tip setup.
The particular Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury seen in this photo gallery is painted in Satin Steel Metallic and features the optional 19-inch 15-spoke Diamond Cut alloy wheels with Midnight Silver pockets. It is also a 550T model, meaning it has the optional twin-turbocharged 3.0L LGY V6 engine. In the CT5 Premium Luxury, the turbo six is good for a robust 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The engine is also offered in the Cadillac CT5-V, where it is good for 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.
This isn’t the first live photo gallery of the Cadillac CT5 that we’ve featured. We also ran a live photo gallery showing the vehicle on the stand at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, however, this gallery gives us a better idea of how the new luxury sedan looks in the real world.
The Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury is on sale at Cadillac dealers in the United States and Canada now.

That gray paint is just dreary… awful!
Are you tired tonight, XJUG? You’re usually far more strident and “wordy” in your unceasing condemnations. I hope you’re not coming down with something.
Nice car!! Starting to grow on me more now.
I would gladly park one in my garage.
Live on road? More like dead on arrival. Cadillac can – and must – do waaaaay better than this,
Gorgeous car in that color.
Did anyone else see the CT5-V review in Car and Driver?
This is a damn good car. The only complaint seems to be that the Germans make a better entry level four banger.
Never realized how plain this thing really looks, front end just says 1st generation Cruze.
Go see this car in person. It is extremely attractive and I may be adding one to my garage. Well done caddy.
It’s nice that this car is on the road with a V6 engine. It would be even nicer if some cars at the dealership had V6 engines.
Here’s a radical idea, Marshall:
Order one!
We’ve been reading your rather monotonous posts for months now. Why are you waiting for some dealer somewhere to get the car you want? Just order one.
Sorry Megeebee if I am boring you.
Thank you for your brilliant suggestion, unfortunately, you cannot order what is not being built. I have been in touch with two Cadillac dealers over the past few months and neither of them can order the car I want until they are being produced with the six-cylinder engine.
I hope Cadillac does well with this car …
It’s the only sedan they have….
Add a few brighter colors please , and make it stand out .
