The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD represents a complete overhaul and redesign with the fourth-generation model. In addition to the many changes and updates, including the switch to GM’s T1 platform and an improved towing capacity of 35,500 pounds, the nameplate also adds three new exterior color options to its palette: Northsky Blue Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, and Oxford Brown Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Oxford Brown hue.
Availability
Assigned color code GNK and touch-up paint code WA-334E, Oxford Brown Metallic is the only brown hue available for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD. It is also one of six neutral hues, and one of four metallic color options.
The Oxford Brown Metallic color option is included in the base price of the all-new Silverado HD. The new brown hue is also available in conjunction with all interior color combinations and trim levels.

I like a proper brown, but that, that is not it. I don’t get the reasoning behind an OEM offering three variations of black.
I totally agree. What makes the multi black approach even more difficult to understand, is that this an HD pickup. Which unlike most half ton pickups, actually do typically work for a living. Featuring three shades of the hardest color to keep clean in a work truck environment is baffling to me.
It’s likely based on sales and what the dealerships are telling them people are asking for.
Just call color “mud”.
