Walk Around The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock And Steel Special Edition: Video

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock And Steel Special Edition made its official debut earlier this month at the Chicago Auto Show. GM Authority was the first to bring you photos of the new sports car back in January, but now, we’re taking a walk around both the Shock and Steel Coupe and the Shock and Steel Convertible in the following exclusive video.

For those who may be unaware, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition is an optional package that adds a host of aesthetic upgrades, upping the aggression levels beyond even the standard model’s styling.

Our exclusive video was shot on the show floor in Chicago, and provides an up-close-and-personal look at the various features of the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition.

Buyers can get theirs in one of two colors – Satin Steel Metallic (RPO code G9K), or Shock (RPO code GKO), with Jet Black offered as the exclusive interior color.

Highlights of the package include large 20-inch Blade Design aluminum wheels, Carbon Flash treatment for the sideview mirrors, a black fuel filler door with visible carbon fiber insert, and yellow-painted brake calipers. Coupe models gets a body-color high-wing spoiler. The package also tosses in a Carbon Flash center stripe, which comes with a Silver surround when applied to the Shock paint, or a Shock surround when applied to Satin Steel Metallic paint.

Inside, we find carbon fiber instrument panel molding, premium carpeted floor mats, and black sueded knee pads.

What’s more, the package appears to include a small Chevrolet Camaro graphic, which can be found on the trunk lid, the sill plates, and the steering wheel. It’s small extra, but can be seen in detail in our exclusive video.

Beyond the aesthetic upgrades, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition is identical to the standard models, including the powertrain and drivetrain specs.

  1. I love the bold colors. I am not so sure that I would ever buy a the Shock color as a daily driver, but it would certainly make for an awesome, head turning, weekend driver. Very cool.

  3. What do I think about that Camaro? That it will go totally unadvertised—as do ALL Camaro models these days—and no one will buy it because NO ONE will ever know anything about it or that Camaros are even still being built.

    smh………………..

  4. I subscribe to GM Authority and read daily. Very insightful and enjoy. Purchased a 2018 Spark. First Chevy. Second GM. Owned a new 1995 Buick Regal Coupe. In between have had several Ford’s. I see allot of comments on interior black hard plastic (totally agree) and the 1.4 turbo engine problems, start/stop feature and transitioning to electric vehicles. Not so much on GM parts and service department. Is this a major drawback to purchasing GM vehicles? From my few experiences since buying the Spark I have seen several problems at my dealer. I thought those two avenues is how a dealership makes the majority of their revenue? Not the sale of the automobile? Is it GM policy overall, or the individual dealership that so far I have seen that has not overly satisfied me. Any insight would be appreciated.

  5. Still hideous. The entire Chevy line up is ugly except the C8 Corvette. For God’s sake fire the styling people and make decent looking cars again Chevy!!!! I bought a 2019 2500hd LTZ diesel because the 2020 redesign is absolutely ugly. (I also bought a 2016 gasser 2500hd new)

Listen to the people who actually buy new vehicles. I’d love to buy a new Camaro…..only they’re so damn ugly I refuse to waste my money. As much as it pains me to say this….the Mustang and Challenger are way better looking and faster in their highest performance level. I’ve been a life long Chevy guy…..tired of the disappointment from GM.
