Chevrolet Impala Discount Cuts Price By $3,000 In January 2020

GM’s plans to discontinue the Impala led to a few notable incentives during the first half of the 2019 calendar year. However, Chevy has since scaled back its offers for the full-size sedan. So, for the month of January 2020, a new Chevrolet Impala discount offers $3,000 off all 2019 models. Meanwhile, a second offer discounts all 2020 models by $2,500.

Incentives

Nationwide Chevrolet Impala discount offers for the full-size sedan during the month of January 2020 are as follows:

  • 2020 Impala (all models): $1,500 customer cash + $1,000 bonus cash = $2,500 total discount
    • To qualify for the bonus cash incentive, buyer must be a GM Cardmember as of January 2nd, 2020.
  • 2019 Impala (all models): $2,000 customer cash + $1,000 bonus cash = $3,000 total discount
    • To qualify for the bonus cash incentive, buyer must be a GM Cardmember as of January 2nd, 2020.

Interested parties should note that the $1,000 bonus cash incentive can be combined with select Chevrolet Impala discount offers, as shown above. Additionally, all of the above offers will run through February 3rd, 2020 except for the bonus cash offer, which will remain valid through March 2nd, 2020.

For reference, here are the applicable 2019 and 2020 Impala trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, destination freight charge included:

  • 2019 Impala:
    • LS – $28,895
    • LT – $31,395
    • Premier – $37,595
  • 2020 Impala:
    • LT – $32,495
    • Premier – $37,595

As such, the headlining Chevrolet Impala discount brings the price of a 2019 LT model down to $28,395, making it more affordable than a regularly priced LS model. Meanwhile, the overall starting price for the 2019 Impala drops to $25,895. Alternatively, buyers who opt for 2020 models will see a discounted starting price of $29,995.

About Chevrolet Impala

The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size sedan. It is the biggest Chevrolet sedan currently offered, slotting above the subcompact Chevrolet Sonic, compact Chevrolet Cruze and midsize Chevrolet Malibu.

The current model was introduced for the 2014 model year and represents the tenth generation of the storied Impala nameplate. It rides on the GM Super Epsilon platform shared with the second-generation Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS.

Compared to its ninth-generation predecessor, the tenth-gen Impala is an all-new vehicle that is larger, sleeker and more modern. Chevrolet modified its strategy for the new model, as the ninth-gen model was sold to rental fleets in significant quantities, while the tenth-gen is primarily intended for purchase by consumers at the retail level. This condition alone has resulted in a strategic decrease in sales volume of the current model.

As announced in November 2018, the Chevrolet Impala will be discontinued after the tenth-generation model. This means that it will not see an 11th generation model.

The Chevrolet Impala is assembled at the following plants for global markets:

Both facilities are slated to be idled in 2019 as a result of decisions undertaken by Chevrolet parent, General Motors.

  1. You know January is history? Right?

  2. Discontinued this month and only 3k off? I just got 11k off on my new 2020 Bolt 2 days ago. Hate to see it go. I drove to my senior prom in a white 1967 Impala.

    1. Why should it be discounted? When the Caprice/Impala where discontinued in the 1990s everyone was in line to buy one when the news broke. They shouldn’t have a problem selling the remaining ones along with the Buick and Cadillac versions.

  3. My ’19 Premier was $27k – almost $10k below MSRP – when I bought it in November.

  4. It’s so sad to witness GM and in particular its Chevrolet Division fast approaching the end of ‘real’ passenger car production. Increasingly GM worldwide, no longer offer much in the way of real design or excitement. Perhaps Chevrolets ‘Corvette’ and ‘Camaro’ models are exceptions but other than these two Chevrolet models, GM seems hell bent on simply selling trucks and or truck based SUVs etc.

Bill Mitchell must be looking down in absolute disgust. My garage has three examples of fine Chevrolet passenger cars. They include 62’ Chevrolet Impala, 65’ Chevrolet Corvair and an Australian production 2007 Holden (badged as a Chevrolet) long wheel base Caprice.

These three vehicles provide a constant reminder for me of what GM was once able to produce. 2020 is certainly shaping up as the final chapter for GM in the years ahead.

    1. I owned a loaded 2018 Cruze Diesel. I think at the time, it was Chevy’s 4th biggest seller. It was a solid car that got tremendous MPG. Other manufacturers are cranking out sedans at a tremendous rate, but not GM or Ford.

      1. Sorry, no one is cranking out sedans at any rate higher than previously. There is no surge in sales because some manufactures have discontinued models. In fact, sedans sales are down at every manufacture that makes SUVs. Call it a fad for not this is what people want today, pickup trucks and SUVs.

        1. Pay attention. I did not say at a rate higher than previously. In fact,a few mfgs. can’t keep hybrids in stock. Tell me again how many Japanese and Korean car companies are cutting back on production and are constantly updating the lines every few years. Don’t bother,I already know the answer.

          1. You’re comment “Other manufacturers are cranking out sedans at a tremendous rate” insinuates that sedans are continuing to sell at a great volumes when as an industry they are stagnant. Just because I used a higher rate regarding your tremendous comment doesn’t change the meaning. Hybrids are still a very small portion of cars sold nowadays at about 3% of new car sales. It has been noted that Toyota’s sedans have been hurt in sales because of the SUV/truck craze going on, that is your Japanese car example. Are they cutting back, not sure, but they will be with cars sitting on their lots waiting for someone who doesn’t want a truck. The biggest seller in their line up is an SUV.

            2. And again, stop bringing SUVs into this discussion. We are talking about sedans here. You want to start a thread on SUVs or trucks, contact GMAuthority. Every Asian manufacturer is selling whatever sedan they produce without absurd rebates like GM. You want to see a huge number of vehicles, look at the number of pickups on dealer lots. Just stop arguing that sedans are a dying segment-they are for Ford and GM!

  5. Do any dealers even stock Impalas ?
If you don’t stock them you can’t sell them GM’s huge mistake is by not Advertising and promoting them.
