Cadillac CT6 Discount Cuts Price By $5,000 In February 2020

For the month of February 2020, a Cadillac CT6 discount offer reduces the price of 2019 CT6 models by as much as $5,000. Shoppers should note that this cashback rebate is slightly higher than the amount offered in December. Additionally, Cadillac is now offering a cashback rebate with its interest-free financing incentive, and has extended the length of the loan. Notably, all offers still exclude V-Series models.

Incentives

Nationwide Cadillac CT6 discount offers during February 2020 are as follows:

  • 2020 CT6 Finance Offer: $1,000 + 0 percent APR for 60 months when financing with GM Financial (excludes CT6-V)
  • 2020 CT6 Lease Offer: $1,000 toward the lease of a new CT6 for current GM lessees with GM Financial
  • 2019 CT6 Purchase Offer: $5,000 total cash allowance (excludes CT6-V)
  • 2020 CT6 Purchase Offer: $2,000 total cash allowance (excludes CT6-V)

It’s worth noting that this month’s financing offer is for 60 months, which is nearly double the duration of last month’s offer (36 months), though not as lengthy as previous offers (72 months).

For reference, here are the 2020 CT6 trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, $995 destination charge included:

  • Luxury – $59,990
  • Premium Luxury – $75,490
  • Platinum – $97,490

The $2,000 Cadillac CT6 discount lowers the starting price of a 2020 model to a more modest $57,990. Buyers who opt for the interest-free financing offer can expect greater savings, though the total discount depends on the final price of the purchased vehicle.

About Cadillac CT6

The Cadillac CT6 is a full-size prestige luxury sedan. It slots above the mid-size Cadillac CTS and compact Cadillac ATS as the largest Cadillac sedan. The vehicle rides on the high-tech and lightweight GM Omega platform that is currently not shared with any other vehicles, though a full-size Cadillac crossover on the architecture has been rumored.

The current model was introduced for the 2016 model year and represents the first model year of the first-generation CT6. The 2017 model year saw a few minor changes, including the addition of two new exterior colors and darker finish taillamps. The 2018 CT6 introduced such features as Super Cruise, Rear Camera Mirror Washer for the Rear Camera Mirror, as well as an updated CUE infotainment system (to version 2.6).

For the 2019 model year, the CT6 receives a refresh, otherwise known as a facelift or mid-cycle enhancement (MCE, that includes revised exterior styling similar to that of the Escala concept, a new high-performance CT6 V-Sport model that was renamed to CT6-V, the new Cadillac 4.2L Twin-Turbo V-8 engine, a new trim level structure, and improvements to in-vehicle technology. In addition, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 gets the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission on all models, while the base model gets a new base engine in the form of the all-new 2.0L Turbo LSY engine, which replaces the last-generation 2.0L Turbo LTG.

The Cadillac CT6 is build at the following plants:

In addition, the CT6 Plug-In model was built at the SGM Jinqiao plant for all markets, including the United States. The CT6 Plug-In was discontinued in the U.S. after the 2018 model year.

In November 2018, GM announced plans to discontinue the CT6 in North America as part of a restructuring plan that will look to shutter various plants, including the Detroit-Hamtramck location. But in January 2019, Cadillac president, Steve Carlisle, and GM president, Mark Reuss, announced that the CT6 will not be discontinued. However, production will be moved from the Detroit-Hamtramck facility to another plant. Another possibility is that the CT6 will be imported from China, where it will continue being offered. However, Carlisle stated that this is the least desirable option.

  1. The adage of ‘Never being able to make a second first impression’ says it all for Cadillac’s CT6 as despite featuring leading edge technology wasn’t enough to save it as Americans just didn’t love the CT6 especially when the decision was made that the top engine for the CT6 wouldn’t be the 650 horsepower from Chevrolet’s LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 as the general consumer was why buy a Cadillac when foreign imports offered better performance and this has not changed as Cadillac’s CT6 has been a big expensive waste of time and money.

Cadillac sold about 22,000 in China last year, and sales there are rising.

I think that’s right. The adage about a first impression was apropos here and it’s been GM’s problem for some time. They launch a car half-baked and in this case with a parts bin 2.0 T I-4 and corporate 3.6 V-6 and then all the press reports are ho-hum because of the engine. They later address that deficiency with a 4.2 TT V-8 but the impression has already been made and it will take time to change that impression which GM is never willing to allot. The CT6 story is so sad. It’s a beautiful car with striking proportions and easily the best Cadillac in 40 years but it was launched not fully formed. The aforementioned engine shortcomings plus an interior not up to the level of the platform or the competition simply doomed it.

I never thought there was anything wrong with the exterior. It was perfect at launch. What I thought it needed was a better engine and an overhauled interior. GM delivered on the engine but left the interior alone and spent money redoing the exterior. I’ll never understand that. The exterior was excellent. It was the interior that needed a re-do to perhaps mimic what GM did with the new Escalade interior.

    3. You don’t know what the hell your talking about. The CT6 is one of the most advanced automobiles on the planet. It’s your mindset , and the mindset of many Americans who simply don’t support American made product. You nitwits think you have to have Jap or German product in order to have the best.

This, and the lack of support that the CT6 has not received from GM gives many the idea that this car is a failure.

It’s people like you who have never owned a CT6, or probably never driven one, that have no right to bad mouth it.

GM has not made much sense in the past couple years in the direction they are going, and the lack of support or their product. Completely eliminating sedans is not the answer. Going all electric isn’t either.

The CT6 has the most advanced chassis in the industry, the Omega Adaptive chassis, which has set the foundation for the new platform/chassis program GM is launching. .

I have a 2018 CT6 Platinum. It is one of the best made automobiles I have ever owned, and I have owned several hundred in my lifetime.

It is this brainwashed b.s. from the manufactures, and other Americans who haven’t owned an American made automobile in 20 or 30 years, that are going to destroy the American automobile industry.

      1. John Engelman,

I am not sure who you are talking to with your assertion about not knowing what one is talking about but I’ll add a bit to my comment to be more clear.

Not only do I think that the CT6 exterior design was perfect at launch with spot-on proportions but I also agree with you that the platform was world class. The feather-weight nature of the Omega platform, the mixed materials and novel and class leading way in which the platform was bonded together all are examples of GM’s engineering at its best.

GM got so much right with the CT6 and the overall package turned out nice for daily use with a decent interior and a competent, capable engine. No doubt driving a CT6, which I’ve never done, would be a pleasant experience and it’s a good car. However, it was really close to being an amazing car that would’ve been lauded in the press with ‘Cadillac is back!” headlines. It was so close to being the reincarnation of the big Cadillac sedan that made the brand famous. It only needed a top-notch Cadillac-only engine to accompany that chassis and a supremely opulent interior.

I think if GM had gotten the Cadillac-exclusive 4.2 L TT V-8 ready in time for CT6’s launch and paired that with the 3.0 TT V-6 as the cars’ two engines and put a 2021 Escalade-like dash into it and a higher quality overall interior, it would’ve made quite an impression. Such an impression in fact that it would still be basking in the glow of all the accolades thrown at it by the press. It could’ve also created a much needed halo over the ho-hum FWD Cadillac CUVs.

I don’t think anyone sits around and just wants to complain and be down on GM or American cars; I surely don’t. What I want to see though is for Cadillacs to be so far ahead of everyone else that they are, once again, the undisputed ‘Standard of the World’. I find it frustrating to watch them deliver a product like the CT6 that is so excellent in so many ways but then is also hampered by the many ways in which GM didn’t sweat the details. Even more frustrating is when they fix one of the issues, the engine, and then cancel the entire product before those improved cars even have a chance to be reviewed.

To be clear though, I think the CT6 would be a terrific daily driver car that is pleasant in every way, chief among them would be to look at it.

      2. We’re on our second CT6 Platinum. It is, simply, a terrific car, the opinions of non-owning nay-sayers notwithstanding. (We use SuperCruise on a bit more than two-thirds of our miles; love it, too!)

  2. Somehow CT6 managed to outsell BMW 7, Easily outsell Audi A8, Outsell Lexus LS, Q60, Genesis combined.

Yet GM couldn’t wait to cancel it!

  3. I still think given an interior that they invested $500 more into and made the base 2019 Vette V8 w/400bhp standard this thing would have sold better. The “ehh” interior, the 4 Cyl with only a 6 Cyl upgrades just didn’t send the right message to luxury sedan buyers and doesn’t say “Cadillac”, especially when the competition is so well established. GM just continues to fail.

Comments earlier about Mary and Mark trying to change the culture. I asked Mary this question when she was VPHR and that was her #1 priority. Thing is she’s a lifer as was her father and the same goes for Mark. GM desperately needs a new CEO from outside the company as these idiots are clueless about the car business, GM and the future. The company is NOT in capable hands and I genuinely am concerned about whether it’ll exist in 10 years… because of them!

  4. Mostly agree with your first paragraph. Your second is SPOT ON and the reasons for the things you cited in you first. The CT6 had it 90 something percent right. Take the current CT6 upgrade the interior to the Escalade style. If it were me the engine offerings would be, 2.7 (yes I said that) the 3.0TT and the 4.2 Blackwing.

There GM I just did your job for you. Dont hand ring for years over this just do it….

  5. I love when people are full of opinions , but have never driven, or owned the product.

There are GM supporters full of lip service, but never buy the product. If everyone here who are full of opinion, went and bought a GM product, in this case a Cadillac, then GM wouldn’t be in the shape it’s in now…..

Like someone once said…..”There are Cadillac supporters, and Cadillac owners, which one are you”?
