Buick Envision Discount Drops Price By $5,000 In February 2020

A new Buick Envision discount offers up to $5,000 off select 2019 and 2020 models. The offer is significantly less generous than recent offers, such as the 17 percent discount offered in December and 20 percent discount offered in November. That said, it is slightly more worthwhile than last month’s $3,750 discount. It’s also worth noting that so far, this year’s discount offers have not been exclusive to non-GM owners and lessees, unlike the aforementioned previous offers.

Similar to recent months, there’s also a second Buick Envision discount that offers interest-free financing, combined with a small cashback rebate for current GM owners and lessees.

The Incentive

The following Buick Envision discount offers are available during the month of February 2020:

  • Retail offer: $4,250 cash allowance + $750 GM loyalty cash = $5,000 total discount
    • Excludes base 1SV models
    • GM loyalty cash: buyers must show proof of ownership of a 2006 model year or newer select GM vehicle at 30 days prior to the new vehicle sale.
  • Finance offer: 0 percent APR for 72 months + $750 GM loyalty cash
    • Excludes base 1SV models
    • Offer for well-qualified buyers financing with GM Financial
    • GM loyalty cash: buyers must show proof of ownership of a 2006 model year or newer select GM vehicle at 30 days prior to the new vehicle sale.

For reference, here are the 2020 Buick Envision models and their respective MSRPs, $1,195 destination freight charge included:

  • Base Envision – $33,190 (excluded from both incentives)
  • Preferred – $34,695
  • Essence – $36,995
  • Premium – $41,895
  • Premium II – $44,795

When the headlining Buick Envision discount is applied to an Envision Essence model with standard equipment, the price falls to $32,745, making it more affordable than a base Envision 1SV model.

About Buick Envision

The Buick Envision is a compact crossover that slots above the subcompact Buick Encore and below the full-size Buick Enclave. The current, first-generation Envision was introduced for the 2016 model year. The vehicle is based on a variant of the GM D2 platform shared with the second-generation GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Cruze, and Chevrolet Volt.

The Envision launched with a relatively steep starting price of $42,995 in 2016, since it was available only in the two highest trim levels and with the most potent turbo 2.0L LTG engine. The 2017 model introduced several lower-end trim levels, enabling the starting price to drop to $34,990. The 2018 model goes unchanged from the 2017 model.

The 2019 Envision received a midcycle refresh that includes a significant amount of changes, including new headlights and front grille, the new GM 9-speed automatic transmission on Premium models, new exterior colors and interior color combinations, reconfiguring the exhaust pipe on non-Premium models to be turned under the vehicle, new taillights, new wheel choices, the replacement of Ice Blue ambient lighting with White, and the addition of three new technologies -  an ionizing air cleaner, Tire Fill Alert, and wireless cell phone charging. There's also the removal of the Buick script from the rear of the vehicle.

The 2020 Envision will receive two new exterior colors, at the expense of two existing ones.

The Buick Envision is built exclusively at the GM Dong Yue factory operated by GM China and SAIC for global markets

  1. gm must think it is a good strategy to have a high msrp and then throw tons of cash on the hood later.

i think it cheapens the brand.

  2. Sadly, there is little to no “wow factor” with this design and even boomers must have a hard time liking it or there wouldn’t be this deep discounting. I’m really hoping that the new Enspire lives up to it’s name as it’s supposed to be an upscale version of the Envision. Frankly, from what I’ve seen on GM Authority, Buick’s Chinese models look much more upscale than their US cousins.

  4. What is the tariff rate on this auto now? Did GM work something out on the tariff rate from China? I know there was a big increase a few months ago with the trade dispute. Just wondering what the final outcome.

  6. My wife has a 2019 with 12,000 miles and loves it. Zero problems, great mileage. She has the Essence because we want no part of turbo charged mini motors. This has an injected 2.5 and has all the power she needs. Not an enthusiasts car by any means but if something happened to it today, we would be at the dealer picked out a new one the next day. I drive a Vette.

  7. With these fairly generous offers, might this signal that the Enspire will replace the Envision later this year? From what you’ve shown about the Enspire, it definitely seems to be much more upscale than the Envision with respect to the interior, infotainment, and power train. And, from what we’ve seen of the Chinese versions of Buick crossovers, the exterior should be more upscale eye candy than the Envision.
