All Future Cadillac Vehicles To Feature Larger LED Or OLED Screen

All future Cadillac vehicles will feature a large Light Emitting Diode (LED) or Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display similar to the one found in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

Our sister site, Cadillac Society, spoke to sources familiar with future Cadillac product plans, who said the technology that made the new Escalade’s massive 38-inch widescreen display possible will find its way into all future next-generation Cadillac models. The rollout of the screen will be staggered, though, so not all vehicles will receive it at the same time. Some models will get the larger LED or OLED screen as part of a mid-cycle refresh, whereas others will not receive the screen until the vehicle is completely redesigned or replaced.

The design and implementation of the LED and OLED displays in future Cadillac vehicles will not be identical to the display found in the new Escalade. Different variations of the screen will be used in different models, and not all will be positioned as they are in the Escalade.

This transition will represent a massive upgrade for technology offerings in modern Cadillac vehicles. The small infotainment displays and lack of available digital gauge clusters in Cadillac vehicles have put the brand on the back foot compared to automakers like Tesla and Mercedes-Benz, so customers will certainly welcome this step forward.

The curved OLED display in the 2021 Escalade is the first screen of its type in the automotive industry and has twice the pixel density of a 4K television. The system comprises three separate screens: a 7.2-inch-diagonal touch control panel, which is located to the left of the driver, a 14.2-inch diagonal cluster display behind the steering wheel and a 16.9-inch diagonal infotainment screen to the driver’s right. The OLED technology allows the screen to be “paper thin” according to Cadillac, giving the screen an unobtrusive, seamless look. The curvature of the screen also contours with the dash and positions the displays for optimal visibility.

General Motors first previewed its OLED screen technology on the Cadillac Escala Concept, which featured a similar curved screen design to the Escalade’s.

  1. This is awesome news but Cadillac (GM) should have had this in the CT6 which I’m sure would have had positive results with potential customers. Lost opportunity. BIG TIME!

  2. Finally. And while you’re at it, get that interior into everything else also especially the XT4,5, and 6.

    1. how about actually making a decent car first?

  3. This is fantastic news! Get this in XT4,5,6 ASAP!

  4. It’s impossible to believe the same designers bring it and the XT6 terrible dash to the world. Bravo, Cadillac! Except the bulbous cheap-looking steering wheel, it’s perfect.

    1. Hopefully the plan for XT6 all along was to briefly carry over the XT5 interior for a year or two then roll out the redesigned interior on both XT5 and 6.

    2. @Sigurd shutup about the steering wheel man!! I dont know why yall complain about issues that are not a big deal.

    3. My Fusion has the same type of steering wheel with the “bulbs” at the 10 and 2 positions. It is fabulous for grabbing with big hands such as mine and allows more grip when turning. You must be a skinny small-hand weakling, so don’t drive this Escalade.

  5. Yes! Cadillac is going to be great again.

P.s. Escalade’s dash looks like a dash from the 60s. I think it’s the best looking dash on a luxury market. X7/gls/navigator have outclassed.
But they need to pay a Lil bit more attention to the door buttons.
    Anyway. Well done.

    1. cadillac are terrible, theyve always been terrible, europe and japan are SO far ahead its laughable.
to call a cadillac luxury is beyond ridiculous, they have plastic awful interiors. its sub par in every regard
My Audi is so much better in every single regard, its not even remotely close.
and you say cadillac are going to be great again, because of an oled screen?
this shows the mentality of a cadillac owner

  7. Funny thing. In so many posts, I recall reading so many on here complaining about Mary. Now all of a sudden, reading through all the very positive posts about the new Escalade and other very positive Cadillac/Buick articles, I’m not seeing those putting her down. Strange. haha.

    1. positive buick articles? i must’ve missed those.

a few positive articles about the escalade doesn’t hide the fact that cadillac is still struggling. the ct6 will soon be dead in the US. and the ct4/5 will be probably be the last ICE sedans for cadillac. and based on the car and driver review, they will go out with a whimper.

cadillac’s future is EVs but based on the recent past, how can anyone confidently say this time it will be different.

    2. @Dan Berning: Agree on your Mary comment.
Everyone seemed to think She was “digging” GM into a hole.

Looks like that “hole” is turning out to be a Missile Silo.

  8. Every time I look at that dash on the Escalade it looks better—speed it up Cadillac in putting it in other models–want to replace my 2008 CTS.

    1. I don’t think Cadillac will put that interior on any models that are on sale right now. I think the new interior Design Theme will be on the new upcoming EV’s. I mean look at that laughable thing they called a refresh on the XT5.
Just my opinion. Hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

      1. Definitely you are wrong!

          I seriously doubt that the CT4, CT5, CT6, XT4, XT5, and XT6 are getting these screens.
But like I said I hope that I am totally wrong!!!

    2. the fact you paid money for a cadillac when there are SO MANY better options, prove you have no brain

  9. Oh please don’t put this on the VSeries. It would look ridiculous with it.

  10. Well everyone here knows that I have been screaming that the Escala, now Escalade screen layout should have been on every single new Cadillac. It is obviously not going to happen anytime soon in the XT4, XT5, XT6, CT4, CT5, CT6 if ever but at least the Future EV’s will have this screen layout. The XT4, CT4, and CT5 look so outdated now but not as bad as the All New XT6 and laughable updated XT5

  11. Just to be clear as this article indicates to the contrary, the 38″ size in the Escalade won’t be carried through into something like the XT4. It will be scaled down. It is the layout of the screen that will be implemented through the Caddy portfolio, not this exact screen

  12. Audi has OLED tail lights for years and they will last as long as the vehicle, because OLEDs are more efficient than bulbs, can be molded directly into the needed shape, and use much less energy. So, GM, apply OLEDs to all the auxiliary illumination and informational applications.

  13. Conspicuously absent from any photos of the new Escalade are any good looks at the front seats. We see a few different seat cover patterns, but what about the size and shape? Adjustability? If they were impressive “looking” why not shows a few pics??? Are they the same seats as Tahoe and Yukon with fancy covers??

    1. The tan seats with the diamond quilting have the cheap steering wheel hub, so that must be the standard interior. The others have the stitched wheel hub, which ought to be standard but is probably only on Platinum.

I hope they offer non-black dashes on the base model, unlike their other lines.

  14. The Escalade-style dash needs to be standard on all trims of other Cadillacs because the brand needs to do something to stand out from competitors. The other luxury brands are eventually going to introduce their own versions of this dashboard and they’re going to make it standard in all trim levels.

  15. its just a shame the cars are utter garbage. Who on earth would buy a cadillac??? or any American car except a ford?, is beyond belief that they get away with releasing this utter trash. The problem is, people will actually argue this and leave comments, but the facts remain, whether you like it or not, the USA is so far behind with car manufacturing its embarassing.
    noone learned from detroit
build quality is awful in pretty much every cadillac and GMC , you might find a decent dodge these days…..but thats only because theyre owned by Fiat.
