General Motors dropped cover on the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox at the recent Chicago Auto Show, showing off the refreshed Bow Tie brand crossover in several trim levels. We detailed the 2021 Equinox Premier in a previous GM Authority Live Photo Gallery, and now, we’re doing the same thing for the Equinox RS.
Compared to the Premier trim level, the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox RS offers a much sportier flavor, highlighted by things like a unique fascia treatment front and back. The redesigned headlamps are pulled back into the fenders giving the grille a broad, swept-back appearance. A black Bow Tie badge and red RS badge can be found in the grille insert, while upright corner lamps are found lower in the bumper.
Moving into the profile, we find this 2021 Chevrolet Equinox RS equipped with “Dark Android” 19-inch wheels, which complement the black lower body treatment that runs from front to back. Further black badging can be found in the doors, while the window treatment is also in black.
Finally, the rear end reveals an RS-exclusive rear fascia and quad exhaust tips. Once again, black badging announces the make and model, as does the red RS badge in the lower right-hand corner. The tail lamps are done up with “Dual Spear” inner graphics, a design cue seen across the Chevy stable, including the Chevrolet Impala and the Chevrolet Blazer.
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox is offered with two engine options. Kicking it off is the turbocharged 1.5L LYX inline four-cylinder, which produces 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mating with a six-speed automatic transmission. Slotting above the LYX is the turbocharged 2.0L LTG four-cylinder, which is tuned to produce 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, mating to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The refreshed 2021 Chevrolet Equinox will be available this coming Fall, and in addition the the RS and Premier trims, will be offered in L, LS and LT trim levels as well.

No pics of interior?
Plenty of interior pics on Chevy’s site.

This styling update definitely adds some visual appeal to an otherwise bland exterior. I still don’t like the slab sides with the strange character lines or the sharp corners on the rear bumpers. Plus, the interior is still mediocre at best compared to a CR-V or Rav4.
Guessing no change on the interior. ☹️
No there are some changes. Nothing mechanical just visual with that red stitching on black seats.
I’m more disappoint that there isnt a 2.5 litre option or a twin or larger turbo to really define Rally Sport.
What about standard safety equipment , leather interior and 8-way power passenger seat? Will they be available?
It is probably Cheap with the same little seats. They are the very small in the latest model. Good only for someone less then 5’6″ and under 140 pounds! Check it out!!
Why is it that everything they think is sporty has to have black wheels! It must be a youngin thing because I’d like to show a little more chrome.
Ugggg another vehicle with ugly black rims! This contagious black everything disease needs to die tomorrow. The 2020 already has 3 ways to equip your Nox with black everything including rims. The “Sport” edition. The “Midnight” edition. The “Blackout” package that thankfully has the rims as an option. Now we have the RS edition which makes 4 unless one of the above hopefully disappears. How about a better interior and seats package.
Nice CAR, but I like the chrome!!! I’d rather have the cloth too!!! Especially on cold days. Of course my 2019 2.0 Equinox only has a little over 800 miles on it. So I’m no professional! Like it so far.
