2021 Cadillac Escalade vs. Last-Gen Escalade: Dimensional Comparison

The all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade is now official, making its presence known in a special debut event in Hollywood, California. With a ground-up overhaul starting with the GM T1 vehicle platform, fresh styling inside and out, and a long list of features and updates, the new Escalade is markedly changed from the outgoing 2020 model year. Now, we’re diving into the spec sheet to parse out how the 2021 Cadillac Escalade differs from the previous model with regard to exterior dimensions, interior dimensions, and cargo dimensions in the following GM Authority Dimensional Comparison.

Interior Dimensions

Moving inside the cabin, we find the larger exterior dimensions help to pad a larger interior space as well, but perhaps not as much as one might think considering the big gains seen outside the vehicle.

For the standard-length 2021 Cadillac Escalade, gains are seen everywhere, with the exception of first-row headroom and legroom, which lose 0.5 inches and 0.8 inches, respectively. The rest of the measurements are up by tenths of an inch, while second-row legroom is up 2.7 inches and third-row legroom is up a whopping 10.1 inches.

  1. How about adding a warranty of 5-10 years to all the electronics on all GM vehicles or make the suppliers of all electronic equipment stand behind their products when they fail.

    1. I have a 2019 Escalade lease after seeing the pictures of 2021 Escalade I believe I will not be purchasing another one and furthermore they screwed up by putting the gearshift on the floor instead of the column

      1. just wonder how you drive with column shift , really it bothers me while driving.

  2. By far the best looking Escalade ever. A really sophisticated look instead of the gaudy look of past versions. The sport version has a gorgeous grille.

    1. I think the 2007-2014 (third-generation) has the best styling and the best body style, while the fifth-generation is the better looking and modernized to date especially compared to the boxy, chunky fourth-generation Escalade. Also, I think Ed Welburn didn’t do too much of a good job with the rear-end of the Escalade primarily in black because it resembles too much of a hearse.

The all-new fourth-generation 2021 Cadillac Escalade addresses all my complaints with its predecessor and the designer nailed it with the rear-tail lamps with the 3-dimensional look. The interior is 100-percent improved and modern and I like the color schemes I just wished Cadillac could have offered more interior color choices.

  5. And another thing Cadillac had a free oil change and this service was great

And they should give at least five year warranty on all electrical opponents

But now they have taken that away and they charge you for oil changes even though you’re spending close to $100,000 on a vehicle not happy with that at all and there warrant should be at lest 5 years or seventy thousand miles.

    1. The Germans all charge handsomely for oil changes. My Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4 is $500 a shot for oil changes.

Buy your oil at Wal-Mart if that’s your issue and do it yourself.

    2. The leather seats in the 2021 Escalade (diamond pattern) looks terrible!!!

  6. The front grille on the 2015 – 2020 Escalade is much better looking than the new 2021 model. The new headlights and front grille looks almost the same as the 2021 Tahoe. The current model will be hard to improve on looks. I do like the new wider dash, but not the extra 4.9″ length in the wheelbase. If I wanted a longer version, I would buy the ESV Escalade. I like the way my 2017 Escalade looks and handles. I think I will keep it.
