2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Hours Before Debut

We’re just a few hours away from the debut of the all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade, which is slated to finally drop cover in an exclusive media event in Hollywood, California. However, those that have a hard time waiting are in luck, as pictures of the next-gen luxury utility just leaked online by CNET and Instagram user @wilcoblok.

The new photos provide our best look yet at the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Although we’ve seen camouflaged prototypes undergoing some real-world testing, as well as some grainy leaked photos without the camo, these shots are much clearer.

Up front, we find an upright stance and broad grille section, with new horizontal headlamps bookending the sizable front intake. The lower fascia also includes a long horizontal style line leading to upright lighting elements.

Moving over to the sides, the Cadillac Escalade maintains its commanding profile for the 2021 model year. Large alloy wheels occupy the corners, and an upward kink can be found along the shoulder line. The pillars are done in black, accentuating the lower body panels and roofline.

Finally, the rear end is highlighted by tall tail lamps that stretch up into the roof, while the lower fascia is done in black.

Under the skin, the new 2021 Cadillac Escalade is expected to ride on the new GM T1 vehicle platform, with a fully independent rear suspension providing both ride and handling benefits. We also expect GM’s next-gen Magnetic Ride Control and optional Air Ride Adaptive suspension.

Under the hood, look for the naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8 engine as standard, while the 3.0L inline six-cylinder LM2 turbodiesel will join the lineup as an available option.

Inside, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is tipped to come with a sizable 38-inch curved OLED display boasting twice the pixel density of a 4K television, which will sit on top of the dash in a freshly redesigned cabin space.

  1. Looks refined, athletic, and the interior is very personal distinguised.

    Escalade needed this

    1. I personally miss the epic vertical DRLs and was hoping for that iconic design; but this is still good. A nice softening while most corporate faces are just getting angrier looking.

  2. Looking good, Cadillac. The last gen looked like it was trying way too hard to be blingy, but this new generation is more subdued, yet more effortlessly upscale. The sure sign a car isn’t compensating on materials, design and quality is when it looks better than its last generation with half the effort. The ‘Gator is about to have it’s clock sufficiently cleaned, and the gap between the Escalade and all the rest in its segment will only grow. Well done.

  3. Looks like a Suburban with a different nose, butt and dash…. except the price will be 10’s of thousands more… Could have and should have been more… another GM cheapo disappointment.

    1. Its a winning formula for the Escalade its been that way and seems to work well. But this time the dashes are completely different and will give them a more premium feel over its corporate counter parts. I

  4. Looks much better than in the leaked photos from Arlington where it looked like the entire greenhouse (B, C, and D pillars) were covered in chrome. It still looks like what it is; a variant of the Chevy Tahoe but its more restrained looking than in the past.

I still wish if they were going to do this (base the Escalade on the Tahoe), they’d at least spring for unique exterior sheetmetal as they do with the Traverse and XT6.

    1. This looks to be the sport version. I’ll bet other trim levels will have substantially more chrome.

  5. Looks like it has an ‘800’ on the liftgate. That would suggest that this model has over 500 foot pounds of torque.

Somebody want to check my math?

    1. Looks like 600 Newtons to me aka 450 ft-lb

  6. Looks like 3 different grilles, the original leak had the little chevrons which i think is the base this white car has what looks like black mesh so possibly a sport model and you can see a 3rd grille in the background that might be the Platinum grille, this white Escalade also has an 800 badge on the back.

  7. This must be a sport version or smth.

I like it ,but that gear shifter looks out of place. Gear Buttons Ala C8 or at the end of the day Tahoe/gmc would have been much better.

Hope it will get an ambient lightning feature.

    1. Gear shifters belong to the past century. Now GM uses a joystick, so you drive like a fighter pilot!

  8. I don’t think there will be any more Tahoe/Yukon Escalade taillight swaps. Sheet metal looks slightly different.

  9. I might be in the minority here, but I don’t think the Escala concept’s exterior looks are translating very well to the production models.

Personally I wish Cadillac stuck to the Art and Science design language previewed by the Elmiraj concept.

    1. Sorry but this is a disappointment in terms of exterior styling.

      1. UGLY. Don’t be sorry. You’re right. Every winning formula has shelf-life this maybe the end. It does not look great. The current looks much better.

  10. What a big fat turd. This is your best GM?>>>>> Elon Musk is doing wing doors, breaking new ground, and GM releases this design turd exercise that would fail a design class. Mary Bara Frump strikes again!!!!!

    1. Mary Barra Frump? Big fat turd? Clearly you are not the target buyer for this thing.

  11. It looks like they mailed it in with the exterior. Maybe even recycled the Terrain’s profile. Color me surprised, but it’s worse than I expected.

I expect to be impressed by the interior. They obviously invested their money somewhere.

  12. I’m shocked, it actually looks fairly well done, handsome even. Minimal design clutter, visually massive, not bad.

    1. Good link…interior looks pretty good. On the other hand, the exterior shiny piece aft of the rear door looks really odd to my eye. And the front belongs in one of those insurance commercials that have an unbranded vehicle. Really blunt and bland…lacking character…designer sees it differently I guess.

  16. I like the new Lincoln SUV’s better than the new Cadillacs SUV’s. The styling on them looks much more luxurious and upscale IMO. This looks more truck like. I also don’t care for the new front fascia design on the new Cadillac cars and SUV’s in general with their vertical straight line LED’s and styling that just doesn’t flow together very well (kind of like the new Camaro fascia).

  18. Does anyone else out there think about HOw Gm was the first to bring out a lot of new technologies but they still have such a bad reputation

  19. Typical styling by committee. Nothing revolutionary but typically evolutionary. It will lease well. I hope someday Cadillac will arise from the blah syndrome.

  20. Hope they find who leaked it. I work at GM and we all know the policy here!! They need to respect their employment. I am aware there are also, non-GM personel in facilities.
