2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV Spotted On The Street

Last week, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade debuted in California, showing off brand-new styling inside and out, a raft of modern technology, fresh underpinnings, and a revamped powertrain lineup. Critically, the Escalade ESV didn’t make the party, but now we’ve captured the longer model variant on the street in the following photographs.
For reference, the Cadillac Escalade ESV is the extended-length body variant of the standard-length Cadillac Escalade full-size luxury SUV. This particular example featured here is the Sport model, and we think it looks rather sinister dressed in all-black paint.
Up front, we see the next-gen 2021 Cadillac Escalade’s restyled fascia, which gains a tight mesh grille insert with the Sport trim level. Further Sport details include black detailing for the front fascia, daylight openings (DLO, otherwise known as the window surrounds), and roof bars.
In back, we find the Cadillac Escalade once again rocking tall, upright tail lamp housings, while the Sport model gets more black trim for the rear hatch. A subtle trailing-edge roof spoiler is up top, while twin trapezoidal exhaust tips are down below. The hatch of this particular model is also equipped with a curious blue Caddy crest badge. What’s more, the rear gives us a glimpse of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade’s new independent four-link rear suspension, which promises improvements to both handling and ride quality.
Inside the cabin, look for the latest driver assist and convenience features, such as Super Cruise with Automatic Lane Change, Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Rear Pedestrian Detection. There’s also an enormous 38-inch curved organic LED infotainment display to keep it all running as intended.
Motivation is sourced from the standard naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8 engine, which doles out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade adds the 3.0L LM2 inline six-cylinder turbodiesel to the lineup, which produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV will get its official reveal at the 2020 New York International Auto Show in April. Until then, make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Escalade news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.
Sharp! Blue crest = electric Cadillac?
Different colors crest between the front and the back. Can’t tell what color the side crest is…
I like the idea but I hate when manufacturers do that. Especially with blue. Blue badges on the Toyota/Lexus hybrids, blue trim for the electrified BMWs. It’s played out.
I get why they all choose blue, its a popular color; and it looks “smart”. But I personally don’t want blue.
Spotting a 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV on the street shouldn’t be too surprising especially as we’ve all seen the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette on the street even before factory production was scheduled to start; it’s obvious from the pictures that this is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV and like the Corvette is a pre-production prototype for company drivers to test before actual production is to begin because General Motors and Cadillac cannot afford to make a mistake with the Escalade.
On the Cadillac website, is has full pictures of the 2021 model. No pricing yet but it does read “arriving late 2020”. You have to check out the dash, just gorgeous. It just might make me trade in my Silverado for one.
Those LED DRL’s are horribly underpowered and weak
I don’t have that problem on my Buick!
Cameras don’t have the same persistence of vision that our eyes do. The LED’s are actually flashing. The camera doesn’t pick up as much light as a result.
Weird how I got that many dislikes for suggesting a better distinguishing design but okay, guess some of you like the XT6 XL
Alot of weirdo’s on this site that pray to the altar of GM… what you just said was blasphemy..
Wasn’t the white truck the ESV last week?
Both models revealed last week were the regular length models.
Looking at both trucks in the picture. One was longer than the other. It was a big difference.
Does it have google navigaion? There was news that Gm cars would get it. Few months ago.
I would definitely not want that trim level. Way too much black going on and nothing pops whatsoever to me. It looks like something the police would drive and takes understated to a whole new level.
Understated? More like sinister.
I agree, this trim looks kinda plain.
Just wanted to say before I bash, I drive and have always driven GM vehicles. I worked for GM in their insurance division (before it went bankrupt) and dealerships for over 25 years. This current setup as far as the independent suspension and all, been long overdue
What was so wrong with the old Cadillac Crest emblem they’re talking about going back to their nostalgic older names but yet they ruined it perfectly good emblem The new one looks like a Chevy emblem from a distance, and they definitely needed to catch up to Lincoln as far as a full size SUV with true luxury seating in it. Prices for every Cadillac is gotten out of control. If I was looking for an Escalade type vehicle I would rather buy the GMC Denali. This truck almost looks like a police vehicle, just Remember GM,not everyone likes all black vehicles
Nice
Question…. How does the nice Starbucks person fit your name on the side of the cup?
For an extended length vehicle, GM designers did a great job with balancing proportions to create an attractive lean look.
Looking at other brands, this was not easy to do.
Not impressed with this model 07 was the last impressive model they had. This new one just looks like a merge of the s class and 7 series cabins combined. No originality.
Ready to order
2021 Escalade ESV prem platinum luxury / this comes with chrome grill
see there’s 5 models
Is Cadillac given discount for 2021
You Ford & Lincoln boy,s need to just jump the Fence
It looks like this dressed up Suburban finally has changed the rear doors from totally rectangle, since the beginning of time, to new slight trim.
Electric Side steps…..looks like non fonctionnal on cold and snow weather still….why keeping this bad equipment in 2020 on a supposed luxury vehicule??
There are several vehicles that offer this. If it were not offered people would complain just like you are.
Wow! My goodness. Cadillac knocked this out the park! This vehicle is absolutely gorgeous. Didn’t think the black mesh would look this good on a Escalade, but boy did the designers make an example out of me. I also love the simplicity and sleekness of the side profile. It looks so clean from all angles. This looks so luxurious, sophisticated, expensive, and sleek. It certainly has the same presence of the outgoing model, it’s just all grown up now with a much more mature design.
Yes sûre, This product is a must and it protect the down panel of the Truck, but they could certainely find a mecanism that Works more than 2 or 3 year in Canada cold weather
Maybe intended for those who live in warm climates. Optional may be a good idea?
Looks really good in black trim, but still struggling with that busy c-pillar. Seeing 5 vertical lines within a space of about 18″…gotta be a better solution to clean that up.
When can you ordering 2O21Cadillac Escalade ESV, any details on equipment and new colors
This vehicle could have been so much more from a styling perspective. Its essentially a Suburban w/diff F/R ends ++… such a cheap company, such a shame to not really want to make the company flagship even more special…. CHEAP!!
When is Cadillac dealers have 2021 Escalade Esv , in – also all opinion on internet so I can order on
Will there be a discount like 2020 has
GM only sells only through dealers and the pre-order online is a way for the dealer to contact you. Many states required dealer sales only. The preorder is also used for sales and marketing on the interest expected in the first year of sales. The C8 Corvette pre-order was a phenomenal success and it indicated that the first years production build would be a total sellout, however it was before the COVID-19 shut down. On this forum it was written that the Corvette plant would need to add a another shift to meet demand. I doubt there be any discounts or very little discounts on the 2021 until most the 2020 are gone off dealer lots. Again, if the nation economy doesn’t pick up enough, GM and everyone else will have to discount to unload the over stock vehicles.
