The GMC Sierra HD is already one big, bad mother trucker of a pickup, but what happens when this heavy-duty machine is upgraded with a set of treaded snow tracks? Well, in that case, you get this – the 2020 GMC Sierra HD AT4 All Mountain concept. This thing looks positively beastly, and now, we’re getting up close and personal in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
Let’s just jump straight to the crazy stuff. In the corners, this GMC Sierra is rocking a set of specialty rubber tank treads courtesy of Mattracks. These things are fully functioning tracks designed to roll over anything and everything that gets in their way, and give the heavy-duty pickup a sort of Terminator-esque vibe.
Complementing the tracks is all the usual gear for an off-road beast, like a lifted suspension setup, extensive underbody protection with hard skid plates, hill descent control, a two-speed transfer case, and a set of red tow hooks as well.
The GMC Sierra’s body panels come wrapped in a custom vinyl job that fits the mountain-ready theme well. There’s also extra LED lighting, including a 30-inch Rigid light bar up front and extra LEDs underneath the body and in the wheel wells. Black chrome trim adds to the look, while a K2 Sport bar and Kicker audio system finish it off. GMC’s characteristic MultiPro tailgate and a snowboard/ski rack add the requisite functionality.
We managed to capture this monster GMC Sierra on display at the Chicago Auto Show, but after Chi Town, it’ll head to Vail in Colorado. And frankly, that’s where this kind of machine belongs – out in the powder, clawing its way up the side of a mountain.
