2020 GMC Acadia Launched In The Middle East

The 2020 GMC Acadia for North America made its debut early last year, but now the updated mid-size crossover has also gone on sale in the Middle East.

General Motors says the 2020 Acadia “is now available in showrooms across the Middle East and includes SLE, SLT, an all-new AT4 trim and GMC’s flagship Denali, with available seating arrangements for five, six or seven passengers, depending on the model.”

While only a mid-cycle update, the 2020 GMC Acadia introduces a number of important changes to the popular crossover that should help it find some new buyers in the Middle East. Customers looking for additional capability may be in interested by the new Acadia AT4 trim, which follows in the footsteps of other off-road inspired GMC AT4 offerings. The AT4 is set apart by its black exterior trim, model-specific 17-inch wheels, Continental Terrain Contact all-terrain tires and standard twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system.

Additionally, GM’s turbocharged 2.0L LTG engine has also been added to the list of available engines, joining the 3.6L LGX V6. The V6 will continue to serve as the base engine in the Middle East, while the new 2.0L engine is only available on SLT and Denali trim levels. The 2.5L LCV engine, which serves as the entry-level engine on North American-spec GMC Acadia models with front-wheel drive, is not offered in the Middle East. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission is the only available transmission.

All Acadia models have also received mild styling tweaks for 2020 including new C-shaped LED lights and a new rear fascia with different taillights. GMC also made some small interior refinements, redesigning the center console to accommodate its Electronic Precision Shift system.

Middle East pricing for the 2020 GMC Acadia was not immediately available as of this writing. The pre-facelift 2019 model year GMC Acadia was priced from AED 131,600 (equivalent to just under $36,000 USD at the time of publication) while the Acadia Denali model was priced from AED 192,200 (about $52,300 USD).
