Last year, New Jersey-based tuning company Speciality Vehicle Engineering released its custom GMC Canyon Syclone re-creation, which looked to satisfy demand for a modern-day revival of the renowned 1990s sport truck.
Now, the company has released a Chevrolet version of that same package, which it has dubbed the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme.
Powering SVE’s new Colorado Xtreme is a supercharged version of GM’s 3.6L LGZ V6 engine, which is good for 455 horsepower and 435 pound-feet of torque. The engine uses a centrifugal supercharger as opposed to a top-mounted Roots-type supercharger, which is paired with an air-to-water intercooler system. The engine is also topped off with a custom composite ‘Xtreme’ branded engine cover.
The suspension also gets a slight rework and now sits two inches lower in the front and five inches lower in the rear. A heavy-duty rear sway bar and a heavy-duty traction bar and bushings are available as optional extras. Bringing the truck to a stop are new slotted performance front brake rotors and carbon-ceramic brake pads.
Other upgrades SVE has applied to its custom Colorado Xtreme include a custom dual exhaust, 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, a composite hood insert and Xtreme exterior badges and logos. The upgrade package can be applied to crew cab or extended cab versions of the Chevrolet Colorado in any of the available factory colors. It can also be applied to two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions of the mid-size pickup.
“Most trucks are made to haul stuff. Think of Xtreme as a sports car that hauls ass,” SVE said in a release. “Now in the spirit of the legendary 1st gen. Chevy Xtreme, Specialty Vehicle Engineering introduces the 2020 Limited Edition Next Generation Xtreme.”
Inside, the Colorado Xtreme features red embroidered ‘Xtreme’ logos in the headrests, along with premium floor mats and a numbered plaque. SVE also offers a custom seat trim package for the front and rear seats, which complement the two available factory interior colors (Black and Cocoa Dune).
The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme is available to order from SVE now.

Nice truck!!!!!
Still way too expensive for what you get.
I missed the price, how much will it cost ?
They did not post it but the GMC is right at $70k. Remember no AWD either.
Like the suspension drop. Bet it handles well.
To bad Chevrolet will never make it…
I believe this would sell big time…
IMHO…
If it wasn’t the fact I need and use 3500 HD’s to haul race cars and show bikes I would be first in line for a production truck….
Oh no no no no we can’t have anything cool or exciting like this ya know! Electric trucks and triple zero yo!
OEM version would be called the Colorado RS(real slow) with the badges to prove it.
Hey GM…if you are going to get rid of your cars and force enthusiasts to move to CUV’s and SUV’s, then THIS needs to be on your menu. Seems to be working well for FCA, enough to now create a Durango Hellcat.
You’re losing the SUV performance market to FCA. You’re losing the SUV offroad market to Jeep and soon Ford too. Guess you like staying bland and over-priced with trim packages that don’t add any true value. Insert Pelosi to Trump hand clap meme here.
Brought to you from the same people who made the Firebird and G8 Firehawk, the 4th gen Camaro SS and now the Yenko Camaro. Glad to see they’re doing more than just Camaros again.
These should be fun. Maybe we can get them to do a supercharged Camaro V6 in the same philosophy. Berlinetta anyone?
$40K if I understand it is not unreasonable in comparison to the custom ford trucks being offered.
$40k has to be wrong, the new Blazer RS are $45+. At least around here in Central, Fl
The truck is $70k.
Like the custom lifted trucks you see few offered by dealers for the mid size as the price is more than most will pay.
Now for a full size people will pay more.
I love the mid size trucks as a former ZQ8 owner. But there appears to be little market for a truck like this. No one really offered anything and even the famed Syclone sold only around-less than 3,000 units.
I really should say that there really is a market for these but the price is too much and there is no profit in a lower price. That is why no one really gets involved.
I wish at least do the lowed suspension like the ZQ8 and one can buy the supercharger if they like and install it themselves.
$40 K is just for the truck you start with here.
The total cost I just saw is 69K+/- which is 29K over the truck price. Ford has a Lightning cousin truck and another called the Nightmare built by dealers one is in Georgia and another in Virginia and one in Champaign IL.
Knowing me, Id probably gut the suspension and add Baja long Travel kit wit fenders
