I think the XT4 comes from Kansas City, not Spring Hill as your story claims.
Spring Hill? I thought the XT4 was made in Kansas City and the XT5 in Spring Hill.
I like a lot of things going on at Cadillac, but I do not like GM and Cadillac’s approach on the way they want to charge you to put paint on your auto. They say here is the only paint we will paint your auto but if you want it any other color I am going to charge you for it.
I’m sure this is done to present a lower “base” price to attract more interest.
Check optional paint costs at Jaguar. I think some of theirs are $9000+! Lexus I’m sure is similar
2020’s version of Granny Gold.
I have never concerned myself about the cost of the unit , or its options , or anything else in the deals . Simply factor it into the amount that YOU decide you want to cut your cheque for .. I tell them up front ; you guys always want to make an arm and two legs on every deal .. I’m going to give you the arm because we both know you cannot stay in business without it .
But , the two legs ?? Get that off the next 2 or 3 customers that walk through your door .. Now ; do you want to sell that vehicle or not !! That is MY version of the ” hard close ” !! It’s easy people ; as long as you remember that it is YOU writing that cheque .. And if they don’t want the deal , then WALK !!! But play NICE in the process … Firm and nice usually works , along with being reasonable . Been there ; done that ; just like all of you have most likely done as well .
Off topic.
So, they charge the customers extra for Camry Beige. Learned this from BMW and Mercedes, I take it!
I thought this was already called Pepperdust Metallic?
Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of companies are charging extra for different colors now, unfortunately. And for a while now you’ve had fewer choices on lower trim levels.
Camry Beige was snark for the metallic beige color that half of all Toyota Camrys seem to be painted…and is free on the Camry, but GM is charging extra for it. I have noticed that Ford, Mazda, and GM (and probably others) used to charge extra for tri-coat paints (like pearl white, candy apple red, or blue mica), but solid and metallic paints were not extra cost colors…but Mercedes and BMW charged extra for any paints that aren’t solid white, red, or black…metallic paints being the lower cost optional paint, and the pearl paints being more than those. It seems that GM has decided to follow the European example for Cadillac.
The XT4 is produced at the Fairfax Assembly Plant located in Fairfax Kansas. Fairfax is located in Kansas City, Kansas
Wow! Another shade of grey. Yawn!
Horrible and just because other mfr’s charge extra for paint GM thinks they can. I seriously think few people cross shop Jaguars/BMW/Mercedes with this XT-Poor. GM needs to grow and move the metal… perhaps DON”T charge extra for paint and use that as a negative to the folks you think you’re competing with. GM is simply pathetic…
