The Chevrolet Nova can be a great vintage car bargain, as we noted in a recent article documenting a clean, fully restored 1967 Chevrolet Nova that had been listed for sale. That car was priced from a very approachable $30,000, which isn’t bad for a fully restored Nova, but now we’ve found another rather clean Nova for sale for even less.
This 1971 Chevrolet Nova is currently for sale at Denver classic car dealership Worldwide Vintage Autos for $19,900. While not nearly as clean as the 1967 model we featured previously, this car has a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8 crate engine, so it should be quite a bit quicker than that 327-powered car.
The reason for the rather approachable price? This car needs a little bit of work, with some paint chips/imperfections showing several areas and some bubbling happening near the fenders and rocker panels. We’re also not really sure if the yellow and pearlescent blue/purple decals are really a great look, especially when paired with the large chrome aftermarket wheels, so we wouldn’t be shocked if the exterior appearance is taking a bite out of its value. The fake SS badges probably aren’t helping initial impressions, either.
All that can be fixed, though, and this car looks pretty solid otherwise. The body seems fairly straight and the listing says the car has only been driven about 1,000 miles since the 383 cu.-in. V8 was installed in it. It also features a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission, which was installed by the previous owner.

Looking for a 64-70 Nova right now. “A little TLC’? Yeah, like removal of those tacky decals and badges – or a total repaint entirely. By the way, the dealer’s website shows pictures of the car with GREEN decals that don’t do much for it either, but at least they work better with yellow. A real nasty Nova. And I don’t mean nasty in a good way. Even at that price. Yecch.
