Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist both have endless amounts of weird, badly modified vehicles for sale. We’ve mostly become jaded to these cars, to be honest, as the internet has managed to connect us with the worst of the worst of aftermarket car culture over the years. From Craigslist ads to the SEMA show, we’ve seen no shortage of vehicular abominations in our internet travels, but we were still a bit taken aback by this strange 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 currently for sale on Facebook.
This truck, first happened upon by Carscoops, appears to be a mashup between a light-duty Silverado 1500 and some other type of medium duty truck. The listing is short on details, but indicates that the truck chassis was sourced from a powerline repair truck. The front end doesn’t look like a first-generation GMC TopKick or any other GMC medium duty truck that we can identify, however, so the hood and grille may be custom creations topped off with a GMC badge. Under the hood sits a Navistar DT inline-six diesel engine, which is paired with an Allison transmission, suggesting this truck may have started out life as a medium duty International of some sort.
The truck currently has 175,000 miles on the odometer, though it’s not clear if that is the mileage on the Chevrolet Silverado chassis or the medium duty truck chassis and powertrain, or since the vehicle was built. The seller is asking $8,000 for it, which seems like a lot for a home brew truck such as this. Check out the listing at this link for more photos and feel free to let us know what you think this weird Chevy/GMC/Navistar mashup truck is worth the comments below.

Mobil home mover !
Buick fake exhaust ports on side of hood…..
Wow GM should buy it then maybe do better than Ram and Ford ??? Lol
As long as it’s well built why not ???👍👍👍
The hood looks like it’s from a 1977-87 GMC General. The GMC General was a Class 8 Semi Truck. Back in the day, GMC built many sizes of trucks, from the compact Sonoma to the GMC General.
