Sketchy Looking Pontiac Fiero Trike Is Somehow Road Legal

We’ve seen all sorts of strangely modified Pontiac Fieros over the years. From Lamborghini and Ferrari replicas to lifted off-roaders, the Fiero has served as the basis for all sorts of weird automotive experiments.

However, this has to be one of the oddest Fieros, and one of the oddest modified vehicles period, that we have ever seen. The vehicle, which is currently for sale on Craigslist in Nevada – and was sent to us by Mike, one of our loyal readers – started out life as a normal 1985 Pontiac Fiero with an Iron Duke four-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission. The seller claims a local diesel mechanic set about converting it into a tricycle at some point, chopping off the front suspension and attaching the forks from a Harley Road King in the middle of the front end of the chassis.

When we first saw this, we had our doubts that it would actually drive properly. The seller claims it starts and runs great and even more surprisingly, says it “handles well on the highway.” We’re not sure if that means it handles well on normal roads as well as the highway, or that it only really works when driving straight. We’re surprised it can drive for any period of time without toppling over, though, so we’re mildly impressed either way. We know tricycle vehicles like this can work decently well, but this homebrew creation just looks unstable.

The car is currently located near Las Vegas, which seems fitting, as you’re probably gambling with your life if decide to actually drive it. The seller is asking $2,500, but we’re sure they are open to offers, as the listing states they ran out of money to fix the car’s A/C and were forced to sell it. You can check out the listing at this link for some additional information and photos on this weird Pontiac Fiero trike.
