Multy Rack System Lets Jet Ski, Dirtbike Owners Ditch Their Trailers

An innovative rack system for pickup trucks and SUVs allows powersports enthusiasts to transport their recreational vehicle without having to bring a trailer along.

Multy Rack Systems was present at this year’s Montreal Auto Show showing off its innovative transport system, which is compatible with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, among other large trucks.

The winch-operated Multy Rack system is modular and allows customers to configure a transport rack suited exactly to their needs. Multy offers various configurations of racks, which are lumped together based on the type of vehicle you wish to carry on the rack and how many. Configurations offered include a ‘Single PWC’ for one personal watercraft and a ‘Dual PWC’, along with a rack system that can accommodate an ATV, a snowmobile or two dirt bikes. Larger rack configurations that can accommodate two ATVs or snowmobiles are also available, along with specially designed rack for side-by-sides.

The company offers a slightly smaller Multy Lite rack as well, which is described as the first winch-operated bed storage system for available for mid-size trucks. Multiple variants of the Multy Lite are available, with this rack also modular and customizable based on the parts selected. The rack can accommodate two dirtbikes/motorcycles or a single personal watercraft, dirtbike or snowmobile. It works with almost all mid-size trucks on sale today globally, including the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.

If you’re wondering, the ramps for the system slide underneath the rack when they are not needed, pinning into the rail hangers and locking behind the tailgate. Multy says the system does not make the vehicle completely top-heavy either, as it is designed to disperse the weight of the cargo load throughout the cargo box floor and bed rails.

“Your vehicle handling will change, but it is not unsafe. Some of our customers say it feels no different than hauling a full-size truck camper,” the company says.

If you have recreational vehicles and want to make trailering a thing of the past, you can learn more about the Multy Rack system via the company’s website. You can also see the company’s products in action in the video embedded below.

  1. Looks like a lot of monkey motion that creates quite a large sail just to avoid a trailer, and where do you put it when your either not using it or need your truck for something else?

As far as “the system does not make the vehicle completely top-heavy” goes. I don’t care where that rack is mounted, the weight is where it is, put a two thousand pound RZR up that high and you better take it easy on the curves or off cambers.

    Price? 😬

    1. What a Negative Nancy you are. Umm…where do you put your trailer? Store it at Uncle Bob’s? You hang the rack on the ceiling of your garage.

      1. What ever Multybob, Takes two seconds to unhook a trailer, how long and how many Nancy’s does it take to (remove) that abomination.

        Have you placed your order?

  2. Innovative design for this product but I’d have to see a vehicle with it installed go through a few performance drills before I’m convinced that it’s not prone to tipping over.

  3. I’d hate to be behind one of these rigs if the cargo isn’t tied down right. The thought of a UTV bouncing off the roof of a pick-up truck doing 65 mph on the thruway is a scary thought.

    1. … it won’t bounce, it’ll just fly into your windshield .

  5. I’m seeing similar contraptions in northern New Hampshire with ski mobiles up top. Kind of shocking to see so much weight above the roof of the cab. I’ve thought they would roll over on a curve but nothing happened. I think I’ll stick with a trailer.
