Chevrolet Discounts Silverado 1500 By Nearly $10,000 In January 2020

To kick off the new year, the Bow Tie brand has announced several new Chevrolet discount offers, including a cashback rebate of nearly $10,000 off select 2019 Silverado 1500 models. In addition, Chevy is also offering interest-free financing for select 2019 Silverado 1500 models.

While the headlining incentive offers a buyers significant savings, it is not as generous as the 20-percent discount available in December, which extended employee discount pricing to all buyers and equated to nearly $12,000 off in some cases.

The Incentives

Nationwide Chevrolet discount offers for the all-new Silverado 1500 pickup truck on the T1 platform during January 2020 are as follows:

  • 2019 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab: 0 percent APR for 72 months for well-qualified buyers financing with GM Financial
  • 2019 Silverado Double Cab LT with All-Star Edition and Z71 packages:
    • $2,860 price reduction + $3,750 customer cash + $2,000 package cash allowance + $500 option package discounts = $9,110 below MSRP
  • 2019 Silverado Crew Cab LT with All-Star Edition and Z71 packages:
    • $3,012 price reduction + $3,500 customer cash + $2,000 package cash allowance + $1,000 option package discounts = $9,512 below MSRP

For reference, here are the 2019 Silverado 1500 trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, $1,595 destination freight charge included:

  • Work Truck – $29,895
  • Custom – $36,195

  • Custom Trail Boss – $41,095
  • LTZ – $44,595
  • LT Trail Boss – $49,895
  • High Country – $54,595

Interested buyers should take note of the requirements for each of the Chevrolet discount offers on the Silverado 1500 during the month of January 2020, as they vary from model to model. In fact, even the body configuration (cab and bed) is taken into account. That said, the main restrictions appear to be for models equipped with specific packages, including the All Star Edition and Z71 Off-Road packages.

For reference, here’s a comprehensive list of all the Chevrolet offers for the T1 2019 Silverado during the 2019 calendar year, with the offers typically being limited to specific models/trims:

About Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado is a lineup of full-size pickup trucks sold primarily in North America, but also in the Middle East and in certain markets in South America. Slotting above the mid-size Chevrolet Colorado (known as the S10 in some markets), the Silverado is Chevrolet's largest pickup truck and currently consists of the 1500 light duty model, two Heavy Duty models - the 2500HD and 3500HD, as well as Conventional Class 4, Class 5 and Class 6 Medium Duty models - the Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD and Silverado 6500HD.

The 2018 Chevy Silverado represents the fifth model year of the third-generation Silverado. It is based on the GM K2 platform shared with other full-size pickup trucks and SUVs from GM. Though the line sold relatively well, it became less competitive in the marketplace with time when compared to its primary Ford F-Series rival, due to lacking cutting-edge features such as turbocharged engines, a rugged off-road variant such as the Ford F-150 Raptor, a diesel engine option in the light duty (1500) model, and also various modern features and equipment.

Luckily, an all-new Silverado arrived for the 2019 model year that addresses many of the issues of its predecessor model. Customers began taking delivery of the all-new truck in the second half of August 2018.

Chevrolet says that the all-new 2019 Silverado is the result of over 7,000 customer interviews - the most intensive research in its history. The new model uses higher grade alloy steel in the bed floor as well as various mixed materials that result in a reduction in weight and improved performance, with weight falling about 450 pounds. The truck also offers an expanded amount of models for a total of eight, including the new 2019 Silverado Trailboss.

Riding on GM's new T1 platform shared with other future GM full-size trucks and SUVs, the 2019 Silverado offers more technology, convenience features, and engine/transmission combinations. While details of five powertrain combos have already been revealed, GM has not yet shared details of the new inline-six 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine, only stating that it will be "best-performing" and that it will be mated to GM's new 10-speed transmission.

Notably, the outgoing, Chevy will continue manufacturing and selling the outgoing, K2 generation Silverado alongside the all-new model for a limited amount of time in limited configurations.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD

Having overhauled the Silverado 1500, Chevy will next overhaul the Silverado Heavy Duty. The brand released a teaser image of the upcoming all-new 2020 Silverado HD in April 2018 and announced the vehicle in November 2018. The truck will launch in the 2019 calendar year as a 2020 model.

The 2020 Silverado HD will be comprised of the Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD that ride on a more robust and capable version of the new T1 platform when compared to the 2019 Silverado 1500, while sharing many high-tech features and design elements with its light duty brother.

Completing the overhauled Silverado family is the 2019 Silverado Medium Duty series, comprised of the Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.

  1. I don’t own a Pick up but if I did this wouldn’t even be on my list…. it’s frightening to look at and the interior is 100% GM “CHEAP” whereas the Ram is fantastic with a stunning interior. GM is just stupid – build a vehicle, save $1500 on development costs with lower grade everything then incentivize it. The incentives tell me they want to further insult customers by making a cheap truck a “great value”.

How about build vehicles people “want” and price them according. GM is staffed with idiots.

    1. You had me at “I don’t own a Pick up” – then STFU dude! Rams are everywhere because they are cheap and start rusting before they even leave the dealer’s lot.

  2. Being beaten to death by Ram, all which is left is to cut prices. What a shame!

    1. Wait wait wait. Did you not see Ram discounting their entire line most of the year, up to $12,000 off? You are completely blind to the whole story. Not to mention Silverado/Sierra handily out sold Ram.

      1. Ram came out of nothing and has consistently gained market share while Sil/Sierra keeps losing Big Time.

FCA executives say that they are looking beyond GM and now gunning for Ford.

        1. They will never do it , unless you have a bunch of dumb people buy a truck that isn’t American. The Ram only has a good interior , the front and back are fkin dated looking.

  3. Make them more affordable to buyers in the first place then you won’t have to discount them and advertise what a dilemma it was to do.
