Breaking Down The Exhaust Treatments For The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban arrived last month in a joint debut in Detroit, dropping into the full-size SUV segment with a ground-up, next-gen overhaul. Both nameplates feature a long list of updates and changes over the preceding generation, including all-new styling front to back. To that end, the tail sections for both vehicles are equipped with either a single exhaust system, or a dual exhaust system, and now we’re profiling both with the following GM Authority Feature Spotlight.

The different exhaust treatments for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban depend on two things: The trim level, and the engine selection.

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban also offer three engine configurations, starting with the standard naturally aspirated 5.3L L84 V8, which is tuned to produce 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Slotting above the L84 is the optional naturally aspirated 6.2L L87 V8, which makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the turbodiesel 3.0L LM2 inline six-cylinder joins the lineup for the 2021 model year, throwing down 277 horsepower and 460 pound pound-feet of torque. Each engine mates to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

  1. Bring back the extended cab! The silverado pick up would grow in sales quickly.

    1. You’re commenting about Silverado cabs on a post about SUV exhaust.
Anyway, the double cab is essentially an extended cab with conventional swinging doors (slightly more room I think too). It’s much better in my opinion.
